What's My Dad Driving?

An Aunt of mine just sent me this old photo of my Dad, taken while he was in high school. He Graduated in '40, so I'm thinking late 30's Mopar? Maybe G.M.?

 

deck lid looks gm. tell him to get out the way so we can see the tail lights . uhhuh

 

Must have been a rough school,,he's wearing a shoulder holster and he's packing! HRP

 

Dad looks like he was a rum-runner!

 

Looks like a tail light under the license plate

 

I say 35 dodge coupe. (Second guess.)

Don't know what he's driving, but it looks like he is playing pocket pool while packing a colt 45.......

 

Is he looking to road rage on someone with that heater of his?

 

I'd guess 36ish Plymouth

 

Trunk line seems like a rumble seat?

 

Don't think its a rumble seat. The trunk handle is at the bottom not the top like a rumble lid would be.

 

Nice looking car.Ain`t sure but a Mopar of some type I think.Looks like a Luger to me.Nice piece.

Up in Ketchikan Ak. It weren't Nuthin' to be packin' a side arm. Probably the latest gift from his uncle , the Train yard Bull, from San Francisco.

 

the trunk lid isnt all the way down like a plymouth

 

it's not a 36 plymouth as the bumper guards are different and the tailight looks to be different. the trunk lid is wrong and rear window does look to be GM.

 

The odd trunk lid is because they came with a Continental type spare mount. I think the roadster version did have a rumble.
