My buddy was at the salvage yard today looking for a bicycle frame and happened to pop the hood of a big Ford COE truck and found a pair of Y-Block ram's horns! I've been looking for a pair for years and can finally get rid of the damn crossover on my F100. The best part is he got em for 10$. Hot damn just had to share that and thanks Chris.

Some days you just win one. It's great to have a buddy who is thinking about what you might need too.

Better double check them. Big truck Y blocks are like Lincoln Y blocks and the outer bolt holes are staggered and not straight across like a ford Y block. Hate to burst your bubble, but yours look staggered.

Those ram horns are sweet. Good for a 30 HP gain from those cross overs......

If they are Y-block and not the Lincoln, you should think about pulling the engine. Big trucks sometimes had the better composition blocks and the extremely hard to find steel cranks.

Yeah they are Fords. From what I've experienced the lincoln rams horns are much more common and people try to pass them off as the Fords alot so look close. On a side note scrounged junkyards for the past year I've found several factory holley style four barrel intakes and 3 sets of ECZ-G heads on F400-F600 so POP THOSE HOODS on the big trucks. (The COE was trashed and had literally nothing much left other than motor and frame, I'll probably drag the whole motor home though soon).

Another notation in the book of knowledge I look at before roaming a junkyard.
We all know the common items we can identify by sight for the cars we normally deal with.
This info gets added to the encyclopedia.

Doesn't seem like 20 years ago,but I just went to the Ford dealer and sourced a new pair for my 63 C600...:D So they were available from Ford at least into the 90's.
