Hey HAMBERS , I am proud to grace the new and improved pages of HOT ROD magazine. March 2013 My 1952 BOMBSHELL BETTY BUICK ran her first 170+mph exit speed this October at the SCTA Wold Finals, for a measured mile 2 way average, XO /GCC class record of 165.38 mph. She sports a 1950 Buick straight 8 Roadmaster big block. For the BONNEVILLE W.F. event, I designed and built a new ROCKET air scoop and dual carb. intake that bumped her horse power 62+ h.p. for a dyno solid 340 h.p. Thanks for all your support.
Saw this thing first going through tech at Bonneville a couple of years back. Amazing the only word I could think of . . . . . . . . . . .
THANKs guys! We are gonna run her one more season. My goal is to get the XO / GCC class over 170 and take the FCC class record (171+ i think) . Then she can retire and the new car will take over. BOMBSHELL BETTY... she's a BEAST !
I saw this car my first year at Bonneville Speed Week (2009). My first reaction was "why???". Now I know why. Congratulations on the HRM spread and good luck on the 170.
ha haaa , T n T man... She's Betty's Evil Twin. 51 Buick "Super Skinny Bitch". *she'll be an outlaw car... but I love her! She's 3/4 built. Get ready! I had to pull of her build (that sounds bad) to make more of my ROCKET HEADS jewelry and art to feed the Buick she-beasts builds and cover race expenses. My plan is to introduce her to the great white at speedweek 2013.
Thanks rodders, check it out: HOT ROD , March issue. I hear it's on news stands, now. I REALLY like what David Freiberger and crew of Hot Rod have done with the magazines new "real rodder entertainment" direction.
Jeff, I just received my magazine and was so happy to see Bombshell Betty with a big spread. I took it to work today and showed it to everyone. As you know i just love her. Gasser Girl
