This car is still around in South Florida and looks pretty much the same....

Here's a recent photo I took. It wears Barris crests on the front fenders.

Yes I was there....you are right it was a small turnout... Getting there and back was fun as well as crossing over to Canada for a cruise.. I took the Eggmobile

    Really great photos and thread!

Sorry for stealing it but does anyone have any more photos or info on this Olds? Remember seeing a photo of it in a magazine (R&C?) in the early-mid nineties?

The car was owned by Doug Fox who has had a long string of tasteful mild customs from Virgina. The flames and striping were done by widely known Va. striper, Don Strother. Dougs most famous build was a 49-50 Chevy light blue fastback that was featured in the Rodders Journal. Anyone with any more questions about any of these cars, please ask.

For those who dont know, this was the brown merc that was on the cover of Mike Keys, LEAD SLEDS book in the early 80's. Like OhioRiv says it had many paint jobs. It was even white/grey with maroon graphics and even flat black with flanmes at one time.

  18. wow thanks for posting these some REALLY beautiful customs in here and a few not soo much

  19. Thanks for all the pics Rick! You guys really got around back when the club was new!

  20. Thank you so much for taking the time to put up all of these great pictures! I know how much time it takes to get them all organized, scanned in, posted, etc.

There is some really wonderful stuff here, some of the best I've seen in a long time! There are many great magazine cars on this thread, but I really like seeing the ones that I've never seen before. Wow! Thanks again for the hard work!
