Here's some pictures of the'56 Chev that belongs to a guy at my work. I've known he had it for while and have been bugging him to get it back on the road. He's had it since the early '70's and hasn't changed it since the mid 70's. I got to see it for the first time and help him put in the shop. It's got a '68 427 and Muncie. I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story. It so damn cool and it doesn't sound like other then cleaning it up and updating some '70's engineering to make it road worthy again, he's going change much. The rest of the trim and matching rear wheels are there also. Same owner for 40 years!
love the shag carpet...screams 70's. get him to do it..and do it NOW! My pops keeps saying" Next year I'm going build it." He was shy one year.
And an 8 track too! Oh for the days of "Due to programming there is 3:28 minutes of silence on this track"
my own reasons---raising a family--fishing with my dad ( i miss him a lot)---building my own houses and shops--riding dirt bikes with my sons--other cars getting attention--working-6 days a week--coaching kid's sports--cruising backroads and trails with the family ---helping my youngest son battle cancer----many people tried to buy it over the 47 years i have had it---glad they failed
The great thing about that car is that it appears to have had good storage over the years instead of sitting out doors and slowing rotting to the ground. Try to talk him into selling it and offer to let him drive it when it is moving again. I put a similar looking 55 2dr back on the street a year ago that had been sitting since the eighties.
A glass, tilt front end WITH glasses-in inner fenderwells; not a lot done like that. I put my BBC (375 HP 396)/Muncie 4-speed 56', 150 Bus Coupe together in 74, the first time I owned it. The second time it came back a a Pro Bracket car. I wish I still had that car. Butch/56sedandelivery.
