    Lets see tonight it was air drill,cut off wheel,tubing bender,flare tool,alen tee handle,wrenchs,tap,vice,work bench,beer fridge and a pack of smokes.
    Could not have gotten the job done if one was missing.

    One I can't live without lately and am not sure how I did it before is a portable band saw (dewalt, corded).

    If you're cutting small parts like brackets, tabs, etc., or cutting tubing, bar, even sheet metal, it can't be beat. Super quiet, clean, no smoke. I turn to it WAY more often than the plasma.

    I have to say, I'm with Fenderless in the NW, on this one. The most important tool in my shop is ME. Every piece of hardware in the shop is useless with out my, experience ,skill,
    and the desire to be creative.

    My big old flathead screwdriver. That damn thing has more uses than a Swiss Army Knife.

    I'm starting to think it has mystical powers.

    Pretty obvious that without an operator, tools are useless. One tool that I use a lot is my Burr King belt grinder. It runs a 2x72 belt, variable speed. Belts are available from at least 36 grit, all the way to micron and even cork belts. You can notch tubes with it or prep any kind of metal for polishing. Welders and other grinders/polishers are also indespensible.

  16. I really didn't think it would get used much when I put it in, but the fireman's / stripper pole is plenty of fun and gets used quite a bit.
    One could argue that it couldn't possibly be the most important tool or even a tool for that matter, but when its in use everyone forgets about all the other tools.

    Here's my favorite tool;

    Its not the battery charger (although thats mighty handy) its the old Pepsi machine. It keeps my frosty beverages ice cold. I actually get ice crystals forming when you crack the tops....perfect!
