Looking to get a new ride when we go stateside.
Love customs rods and street machines.
Biggest problem is finding that cool ass coupe that seats five.
Looking for a ride that I can go one cruises with the missus and the girls.
At the moment I have a "thing" for the 1949 - 1950 Olds Fastback.
Any other information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance

Just about any "kustom" made out of a '50's two door sedan will seat five: Ford, Chevy, Buick, Cadillac, Olds, Pontiac, ad infinitum...three in the back, two in front. Some late 40's coupes would also seat five, altho they were a bit tighter in the rear...just depends on what make you prefer...and it's not chopped...!!!

  4. Ok is this a repost or was I dreaming about this the other day?

Your old torpedo back will easily seat 6. I think that is what I posted in my dream or at least a paraphrase of it.

I have and they are some beauts here.

  8. Fast back. slope back, aerostream. That Olds you spoke of would be considered a torpedo back in some circles. it is just hot rod slang.

    Thanks Porkbeaner

  10. Any 2 dr sedan will seat 5 no problem. A coupe will be very tight, if it even has a back seat.

  11. Could go older and get a nice little coupe with a rumble seat ?

Shit! 90% of the cars from 39 to 79 will seat 5 confortably, you should see what we had in europe those same years. They seated 5 in the paper, but must have been thought by sardine box designers....

Plenty of nice fastbacks through the '40s too. Buick called theirs a sedanette.

Most any of the cars from the late 30's through the 60's could haul five comfortably if not six. If the back seat is too small in the coupe, threre is room for three in the front.

We have three kids that have grown up over the years. We have travelled in cars from '29 roadster, 28 tudor through the boats from the 50's and 60's.

Now as we have grown some in size, the roadster has gotten too small. ;) But still can all go in the 28 tudor.

  19. ^^^The '30s, and if I had little kids I would get a roadster with a rumble seat instead so they felt like they were still part of mom and dad.

About any '50s car with a bench seat will easily seat 3 in the front seat. Someone is going to tell you that kids are safer in the back seat but that is a crock of shit, '50s cars don't have aiir bags and air bags is why kids are safer in the back seat. Anyone under the height of 5'3" runs the risk of getting their kneck broken by an air bag.

  20. May be to new for ya but She's a total Virgin with 78K and is mechanicaly new Bumper to Bumper. She will keep all of ya going till it's time to put the kids in there own cars. Picture it with a Watson style paint, some Supreme's, and a Hot wrench on the springs. She already has Twice pipes. Oh, and the Boot is big enough to sleep in.
