Here's a picture of my '46 2 ton duelly Chevy, came from a barn in Indiana (via Maine) with 33k miles and pretty much no rust. The paint was pretty much all gone as it had been sitting for 40+ years. I shortened the wheel base from 160" to 134" to make it a more reasonable size. It has the two speed axle (slow and slower,) body, frame and paint are done, working on freshening up the late 50's 261 engine to go in (216 in it) and in the process of figuring out how to adapt a late NV4500 truck 5 spd OD trans to the early bellhousing so I may actually be able to drive at highway speed. It had a wood dump bed which I am debating on rebuilding vs fabricating a 9' period style pick up box. the hard part of that will be finding (or modifying) rear fenders for duel 20" wheels. The truck is safe and warm inside for now while I finish a couple other projects and figure out how I want to complete it. The goal is to use it as a tow vehicle for my other toys. the Red one is in FLA and basically what I hope mine looks like when complete 46 PU.jpg 150.jpg

My baby...passed up alot of really nice ones to find one that was all original. Currently getting all the mechanical brakes updated to juice and adjusting the stance. Hoping to clearcoat it some time in the future to preserve that gorgeous patina.

Probably would they did that on that fast and loud show to a 50's Buick and it looked totally different. They used flattened clear but the orange from the rust was totally gone. Still looked cool but not the same. Nice truck by the way.

Yes, you can flatten the clear. I think it is a good trade-off to watching the body continue to deteriorate into ???

Thats bad ass dude. Stance is spot on. Wouldnt touch a thing. I think if you ever paint it you'll need to go lower, but that as found look is perfect with that mean rake.

Hey Burtuckyboy, a neighbor here in Austintown. Your truck looks great; I'd like to have one like it someday.

I see paint all over it, they must be confused! ;)

I bet people tell you you should turn it into a Chevy as well, GMC's are way better looking in my honest opinion.
