62-65 are my favorite of the chevy II body, I like the '62-'63 the best (single set of tail lights) I built a '63 ss a couple years ago all stock original inline 6, powerglide, was a cool little car. traded a beat-up '87 dodge pickup for it. got it in pieces, couple coffee cans full of bolts and spent 2 1/2 months gettin it drive-able. used it just for the wife and kids and I to go get ice-cream on the weekends. I sold her last year.... I miss her though.

  6. Lookin' really good, man!

This Nova ha a 4speed sometime back in the days and the tunnel was hacked up.
Made a "inspection box" so i can reach alot of the gearbox from the inside, not nessesary but looks alitte bit nicer han the old hackjob.
The shifter is going in later gonna modifie it alittle first.
    Sorry for shitty pics.

Great job-looks spot on to me-really like early Novas. There is a fellow around here who is on the HAMB that also has a very nice 2 dr post gasser style Nova-really like it too. Went with a friend 2 days ago to look at some Novas--the guy must have had 12-15 62-67 2 door Novas-one was a L79-then after the long ride, etc he decided he didn't want to sell anything-changed his mind I guess!!

    Thank you!

The 65 and older Novas ar hard to find here, alot of them are pure race cars with modern drag chassies and all that.
I was lucky to find one,not the best one though :D

I like the idea of the inspection box. I'm going to have to build one my self until I make a whole new trans tunnel. But when i do I plan on making the whole tunnel removeable.

Did some work on the front today.
Want it as clean as possible so i only saved the grille.
Did some mounts and stuff so it sits tight.
Looked fine until i mounted the hood, the gap between hood and grille is to big.
So i have to make something else.

usually the gap between the hood and grille is a bit wide.
the hood-trim-peice fills it a bit.
but your grille appears to be a bit squished in the center.
maybe its an illusion, either way, i like how its comin' out...

    Your right,the grille aint straight.
I got the trim piece for the hood but i dont want to use it.
Might build a new grille of some sheet metal or aluminum and just drill some holes in it,i like that look.

Did some work on the middle of the grille.
    Got it up aboute 1inch.
Also mounted some turnlights that i had in a pile of leftovers.
And you get bonus pics of some super high quality old metal work ;)

I hope you find a way to run that grill. I've seen a couple Deuces/Novas with sheetmetal/aluminum and it just didn't do it for me. I think what you've got there could be pretty cool!
