Took some 40 coupe gutter pics today. If these are what you asked about?

  2. Thanks FJ. Thats what I love about the HAMB!. If anyone knows approximate measurements of the lip that would be great!

  3. I remembered I know a guy who has a 1940 coupe so I went over and looked at it firsthand. Now I know how I'm gonna attack the decklid gutter. More progress on the decklid. I should hold off on the pictures til it's all cleaned up but I just can't help myself. 5. Ha ha. No I looked at that lid it was pretty rough for the $. I met Rick though lots of nice projects going on in his shop. I got mine from an old rodder in el cajon named Gene it was in real good condition for a great $. Very nice guy.

In your first 5 posts or so you try to act like a hack......a no nothin', part time welder.......You Sir, lie like a rug!!!!:):):)
Even when you struggle the bad pictures are posted and fuckups shown freely, you may not be a conventional builder, with every tool in the book, your are the blood and guts builder whose main tool is your unlimited imagination for this build.

Keep up the struggle....it's all good!

PS. What is that in your avatar?

  7. Thanks Frankie I think. My avatar is just 36 parts on a wall and a HF English wheel and a SBC. I switched it to that after I turned over the proceeds of my Low COE avatar, a 42 ford quad cab ramp bed COE (it's on the COE thread page 16 i think)To the divorce attorneys. I guess it was a hint of what you are starting to see on these pages. Once I get further along I'm sure ill switch it out but it reminds me of how I used to stare at that wall and dream of building my own 36.

Hi buddy.....nice build....glad I found it....I have a uk 1937 four door sedan that I'm turning into a two door cabrio......I'm rubbish on comps and can't seem to load pics on here. If you go on to rodsnsods.co.uk and go into the the search part type in bobs 36/37 sedan to cabrio project and you will see pics. I bought two usa 36 coupe rear quarters from guys on here and cut up a Saab convertible for the top and seats....it's coming on nicely now although a heart attack in January has slowed me down....hope you like my project if you find time to check it out....bob in bonnie scotland

  10. Thanks Bob. I looked you up on the UK board. Gotta love the internet! Gonna share some of your pictures here for you. As for me I was sidetracked by rebuilding the super T 10 transmission that had crapped out in my 56. Now it's ready for Cruising Grand. I'm back to work on the deck lid but determined not to show any pics until it doesn't look like a turd!

We've been patiently waiting for your lastest updates. I'm glad you got your trans fixed & can get back on this build. You have done an amazing job thus far & I'll keep checking back for updates! I agree with Frankie above, when this started out you acted very unskilled, but you have done some great work on this. Thanks for letting us watch it progress!

  14. Well I can't disappoint my followers. Here are some shots of the decklid. I had to split it open because I kept setting the sound deadener on fire and it smelled horrible. This has actually made progress and quality ( not Riddler quality mind you) much better. I said I wasn't gonna show pics til I was done so take it for what it's worth. I will say that the Frankenstein of an inner decklid is a shitload of welding. The most so far . ImageUploadedByTJJ1367015461.337429.jpg ImageUploadedByTJJ1367015474.734791.jpg ATTACH]

Lowcoe - subscribed man! Awesome work. I think you shocked us all when you said you "tinkered here and there". This is far superior to "tinkering"! Thanks for sharing with us all!

  23. My friend is bringing back the frame tomorrow. I'm thinking sbc. F 100 brakes up front . Th 400. 9 inch rear. And flattened rear cross member. .... Better than airbags right???

I'd go 700R4 instead of TH400 but the rest sounds good. Or go with a tall low end gear if you don't have the overdrive.

cool project! this thing is 10x cooler now that its a coupe.

  26. I'm a little burned out dealing with the decklid so I've shifted back to the frame. I'm disassembling and cleaning the f100 brakes off my first car ( that's a different build thread). It's kinda cool to think the brakes off my first car are going on to my (probably) one and only creation. 9 inch rear end is getting cleaned and prepped as well. I'm tapping into the tech archive to graft it to the original wishbone rear suspension.

Great build, and I'm enjoying watching it morph into a cool coupe!
Always good to move to another part of the build when things begin to frustrate us. I do it often, and when the lightbulb comes on I drop everything and go back to what was frustrating me.
Your's is the kind of build that made hotrodding. Making what we want out of what we have! Keep up the great work!

Man you've really come a long way on this sucker. Fantastic work, way to stick with it man.

  29. F 100 Brakes roughed out on the front end. Used the Speedway Kit, no complaints. I have to pull it apart and paint all the parts. Big thanks to 117harv for sending me out a yolk for the rear end build that I'm going to do with the Help of the SamIyam's tech archive article. I'm using a 9 Inch rear end.

I'm not dead. Nor is the build.
