Looks like we're both on the same page again Rock. Perhaps it's the very large distance that's creating the gap.:D

I have a diecast aluminum grille for my 40. I planned on using it till I came across a listing of 40 dodge parts for sale. I bought the lot and in it was a original steel grille complete with crank hole cover.

Thanks Moparts. It certainly has been snowing a bit, but it's the temperature in the garage that's hampering me a bit. (even with the little heater on.) Despite the cold, I hope to at least get something done this week!:D

Thank you for the info Rock. It looks just a little too modern for me, but I'll keep it in mind if I can't find a proper solution for the present setup. I honestly haven't researched the headlights much, so I still need to figure out what I like and need.

I knew it wasn't "traditional". It is a different approach, however. :)

You could do what I did. I made mine turn signal and running lights. Works great and its an amber bulb.

  16. Eric, This is similar to what I did on my friend's '50 F1. The parking lights originally had a single wire socket in them so I bought some dual wire light sockets and put into the "parking light reflector". Now it takes the typical dual filament bulb with one being the parking light and the other becoming the turn signal. It worked out great!

  17. Hi Eric, another suggestion, think it's the same in netherlands to have to go with asymetrical headlight beams, so you could use the same headlamps i bought for Betty, made by Bosch, 7" headlamp inserts, still available new, with slightly curved glass and chromed retainer ring and included 5watts bulb socket for the parking light.. and the original park lamps got an amber 21watts bulb and are the turn signals.. do you have seperated parking lights?? The Bosch lamps fit perfect into the old lamp housings!

I made a suggestion to a guy a few years back at a swap meet asking if he had a double duty park/indicator bulb that would shine white as a park light and then would flash amber as an indicator, 4 years after i had asked him the question he released the exact LED bulbs i was looking for to do the one application. So now that is what i use in my cars, i love the old look of a white park light, but by law we are supposed to use and amber indicator, but it looks trick when you see a white light flash amber anyway, it is a win win application. :D

I thank you, too! That is ideal if they will fit in the 41 frame.

Best I can tell, there is not enough room for an 1157 size socket and bulb. :(
