I narrowed the rack and I am ditching the brackets.

Nice rack! That didn't come out quite right. Did you pressure test after you tig'ed it up? Hadn't seen that done before, but seems pretty straight forward as long as everything is setup in a jig for welding. Nice job. Mike

There is no fluid where it was tig'd... no need for pressure testing.

Great job. I am going on close to 3-1/2 years now on the road with the CV IFS in my `61 Unibody...I recommend it to anyone. It handles awesome and rides so nice.

Sure will if you don't mind high offset wheels. You won't have to narrow it.

Yeah mine has been slow too. HOWEVER I have a ton of parts and all of my spring chores are done. Tommorrow I mount the new front bearings and start brake plumbing. My mounts for the engine are on the way so stay tuned I gotta lot of cool stuff coming.

 

As promised more pics.

Battery drop down brackets, engine mounts, supercharger and throttle body mounts/adapters, and clutch pedal arms.



Front Suspension Finished. Everything is like new, bearings, ends etc.

Ford blue brake rotors.......I know everyones are red....I happen to bleed ford blue though.




Starting brake lines tommorrow.

 

Got the braided lines on today as well as the thru frame bolts.

 

Motor Mounts welded up........thanks to my buddy Ron for the Plasma Table!

Hopefully I can get the transmission crossmember in tommorrow. One issue I have ran into is that with the motor and transmission setting level the driveshaft is going to run right through the mid crossmember, I guess I will have to put a hoop in to make it work.

The length of this motor and transmission are turning out to be quite a challenge.

I got my steel lines ran this weekend......still debating on painting them or not.

This little tool was AWESOME! absolutely the best flare tool I have used. Bought it from across the pond in the UK $45.00 shipped here. The bender was $20.00, when I got it, it was buy one get one free (I didn't know until I opened the box and it happened to be a special, SCORE). So dad got one too.








I ended up using regular steel tubing and the typical rubber coated steel brake clips. I used 1/4" stainless screws with nuts for it all. I was going to tap the frame but I wanted a nice smooth outer rail so thats where I left the screw heads.

 

Keep posting. Gives me ideas for another.

Always loved that body F100. Very interested in the thread.

 

Well after some work I have the rear end blasted painted and assembled.

Welded up the perches, and axle tubes to the housing, taped it off for blasting and painting.





After painting and assembly. It got 3 coats of KBS which blistered because I painted them on a hot humid day so It has a couple coats of enamel over it after resanding. I polished the cover using a kit from harbor freight, worked like a charm.

 

Swiss Cheese Repair.....


New hinge buckets, these things are a PITA. I had to undo the bucket and reweld it to the pillar to get them aligned properly.


New brace and firewall patch.

Here was the P/O attempt at a chop.... it has complicated my efforts of getting everything lined up. I'll get it there.....






Salvaged the top of my original doors and swiped the skins off of the to replace the chopped cabs:




Checked header clearance, looks like I am gonna have to modify these but they do look WICKED in place.



Removed the left corner and started working on patching it and the door:

 

Wow, you ARE ambitious! Too bad you don't live closer I have a cab in storage that is in a lot better shape than that one. The worst part about a chopped 56 cab is finding a windshield to fit, better do your homework before investing too much time here.

 

Got my super charger intake cut this week!
