I am working with Randy at "HR&CS" (Hot Rods and Custom Stuff) for the Custom Perimeter Frame for the 1932 Chevrolet Roadster.

The Wheelbase will be right at 118" due to the drivetrain combination and the intended use on the drag strip and flat out running in the future.

    Thanks for looking!

Here are the progress pictures so far:

1932 Chevrolet Roadster Pick-Up Cab mocked up on a Stock 1932 Ford Frame. We used the Roadster Pick-Up Cab for measurements because the 1932 Chevrolet Roadster Car body is not assembled:

Initial setup of the frame rails in "HR&CS" frame fixture:

Here is the front of the frame pinched and the axle pushed out in front of the 1932 Chevrolet Grill. The frame will blend right into the Grill Shell when finished:

Is that body a kit? Steel or fiberglass?

I have watched Randy build some Killer Frames for years. HR&CS is setup for everything when it comes to custom frames. It is great having them do the frame for the '32.

Is that the '32 Roadster with the Hemi that belongs to a member here? That is a Super Nice Build!

Both of the Roadster Bodies (1932 Chevrolet Roadster Car and Pick-Up) are steel and were stamped by Experi-Metal in the 80's.

I have had the roadster car body since the 90's. It took a long time to collect every panel, I wanted a complete unassembled Roadster Body so I could put it together the way I envisioned.

Excellent work, as always in HR/CS. Pity that HR&CS web page is no longer such functional as its previous version. I spent quite a few hours watching build photos there...

    Thanks for sharing progress here!

Thanks for the great comments! We are really going overkill on the frame, chassis and cage. The non-traditional powertrain going in will have around 1400-1500 HP on tap with boost so we need to make everything able to support that. Right now the plan is to run a hood top and sides to hide the engine. The exterior and interior is going to look like it was built in the 60's. It's a Hot Rod!!

Here are some pictures of the frame all set up at ride height. We will start laying out all the measurements for the suspension components. We will be making the front bones/beams and the adjustable rear 4 link.

  25. I sure glad to see this project moving forward, and yes, looking for updates. I was quite disappointed when Experimetal stopped building the bodies.

We will be putting the rails back on a frame table to fab all the suspension soon. We have to finish up the final package for the engine before the money starts going back into the frame to finish it up.

The engine has seen several dyno sessions since the last one posted. We have a new supercharger to test in the next few months that should produce numbers closer to 1400-1500 HP at the crank on boost alone. The biggest number so far is 1077 HP on boost alone and we just keep running out of airflow with the current positive displacement superchargers. The new supercharger is almost 2x the size of the one in the dyno above.
