*disclosure: this is shameless campaigning.* Some of you may have seen my midget before. Well, it's been nominated for Hooniversal Car of the Year at Hooniverse.com. It has come down to a two horse race between the midget and a Mercedes Benz Unimog. The Unimog is getting a ton of support from the Mercedes message boards. Unfortunately, there isn't a vintage midget message board, so I turned to the HAMB.

I figured this crowd could appreciate a late '30s midget racer.

Here is a link to the midget backstory and the build blog.

There are some great vehicles and some even better stories in the contest.

    The Unimog:

The vote count is currently 145 to 125 for the Unimog.

    Do it for America!

Don't usually vote for stuff, but I am patriotic, and do like the Midget too.

    Wow, thanks everyone!

The midget was a labor of love and it's now more fun than I ever expected it to be. I only wish my grandfather had seen it before he passed.

Once again, thanks for the support! The midget doesn't neccesarily fit in here with its drivetrain, but the rest of it certainly does.

The first time I clicked the link it said I already voted. I tried it again later on and was able to vote.

The midget ended up running away with the voting. Thanks to you all! I'll post a link to the official announcement tomorrow.
