    Hey Daddy_O

I bought it from Colorado, could well have been Montrose but i'm not 100% sure now how did you know that? i know originally it was a Southern Idaho car. Your right, it is a special deluxe business coupe, is that rare because most special deluxes were 4 seaters or just because there aren't many special deluxes left at all?
Yes, it's a 270 GMC and i have a S10 5 speed trans to go on it, i'm not working on it at the moment but will update on how it goes when i get back on it...

I stole these from anywhere I could. I like almost any 40 Chevy , but the drag cars are my favorite.

Here is the one I build back in the 90's. Sold it in 2000. Took the picture next to my F100 in 2009.

Any idea who ran this car and when? A cousin of mine used to race at Deer Park in the early 60's with some sponsorship from Ron's Drive In but I think he ran B/GAS.

This one is currently taking up space in my garage until we can sort out some paper work. My father-in-law passed away during its build.

Bought this one for $15 in 1966; it needed wheels/tires/battery and the fuel line was plugged, but we got it started and drove it 15 miles home...and discovered ....no brakes. Got the brakes fixed, and drove it for a coupla months for a work car, but it was using so much oil, I couldn't afford to drive it. Was going to slap in a 57 Dodge 325 at the time, but too many other things going on. It had a vacuum assist on the 3-sp transmission, kinda strange.
The rear end on it is not the original.
It had sat "out on the farm" since late '66 and I sold it about 2 yrs ago.
Kinda thinkin I shouldn't have. But what the heck. The guy that bought it will do it justice, I'm sure.

  26. Wish I could have kept mine but I REALLY wanted a 34 ford coupe! This 40 was #2 on my "list".
Came from Michigan to Nebraska on Ben D's trailer. Used a quarter from a 40 tudor sedan. Built a 327 with a T-56, 6 speed, 9 inch.

These are some pictures of my 1940 Chevy and the trip down to New Mexico to get it. The first ones were taken in Albuquerque, NM (where we bought it.) The next two are somewhere near Flagstaff, AZ. Believe it or not, it snows in the northern parts of the Arizona desert! This one is 100% origional (besides some dodgy wiring and engine work.)

  29. Just made a deal on 40 business coupe last night. It needs a little work before it is on the road, but should be a good cruiser sometime this calendar year. Can't wait to get it home next week and start on it.

1940 Special DeLuxe Town Sedan. Later 216 and Ansen floor shifter. 60's interior. Just out of 40 years of storage and running great. Always a Kansas car and no rust or repairs.

Yes, it is for sale. PM me for details.
