With my most precise tool. A 4" angle grinder with a cut-off wheel.

Pretty much. Used a long builders square and a small speed square to measure the length of the old trans input shaft. Marked it with a piece of soapstone and cut it off square. I still need to trim the collar.

One of the spring bolts snapped off in the hanger. Tried welding a nut on and backing it out. No luck yet. &%&%^(&%!!!!

Frame is now ready for cleaning. I spent a couple hours with the 4" grinder with the wire cup. Also flipped it over and did the bottom. Hopefully will get some more done tomorrow.

So you have officially pulled ahead of me again.

And I definitely have more metalwork ahead of me than you do. (even without the chop and channel) That cab looks pretty damn clean.

the one hope you have is that Jay has an astounding predilection for auto ADD.

"hey guys, been working on the AD...oh look, a grain truck stuck 4 feet in the mud..."

What a Shiny (or Rusty) object!!!.. I have that same problem looks like he's on the case. I didn't think you were taking it down that far though but as with everything you work on I'm sure it will end up matching your vision. Welcome to the AD Club.. Wish I had more time off over the Holiday, I need to make a run out that way..

Ha. I always obey the speed limit.

I got the doors and hinges off the cab today. Also started stripping paint off the cab.

Definitely subscribed :) I pulled the 3 speed and 216 out of mine, bought a donor with a 235 and the wrong bellhousing and a T-5. The 216 is locked up and i can't get the bellhousing off, but if i could all i need to do is the modifications as stated. Nice work!! anyone need a couple of 3 speeds and an old 216? I'd hate to junk'em. also if you could take some pics of your pedal setup i'd be interested. once you get there :)

My 216 was locked up and I was able to get the bellhousing off. It's a pain in the ass- but it's do-able. I had to cut the handle in half on one of my 1/4" drive ratchets to get the last pressure plate bolt out.

I will give you an entire 216 and a popsicle if you come do that for me. I'll be spending my afternoon on it. I'd rather do that then spend 175 on an adapter to my other bellhousing

so your saying i can get the flywheel off without spinning the engine over? i have an engine stand but right now that 216 is just sitting on the pan and blocked on the sides. guess itd be easy if it was up in the air
