I like the color that was chosen here, it really pops out in the sunlight.

The rear rims & M&H slicks on my Willys are off of this car. I went to Stan's shop many years ago to buy a Sun tach and end up with a set of A-250 10.50X15 slicks and two 8"X15" American mags (mounted). Sadly I heard Stan passed away recently.

Car looks great Vic. Great stance and love the wheel and tire combo. And we all know Kev's work is outstanding. Great addition to the other Bad News cars. :)

Thanks Baron, that's the first time it's on it own power... bet you can remember your first time too.:p The front springs are actually too weak and will need to add more leaves to get it a tad higher than the rear. But at least it's alive! :D Vic

This one ran here in Oregon it was called "The Undertaker", these boys built three of these cars in the 60's. They would make refinements on each one, Steve Doane was the chassis man. Steve spent about a day under the SWC Willys at the Winternationals one year, when they got back here, he found and stretched a 40 Willys frame and installed it under their 55 with 1/4 elliptic springs, and suspension as close to the SWC car as he could. They were always tough competitors in Gas and Altered classes. Gary Parham was the driver, they ran an Enderle injected 327.

Wow Some great pictures and stories. An old friend of mine on the east coast used to run a 55 called " U S Mail" Painted red white and blue. They made him change it to "US Male" copywrite and allthat. He ran Attco dragway, and a few others in the late 60s. His name was john Evenchick, havent seen him or the car for too many years.Anybody have a picture of that car?

That shot was taken nearly 50 years ago, I spent a couple of hours with those 2 guys yesterday, I surprised them with what I had remembered about their cars. Also, their cars were a big part of the inspiration for the 55 I have been helping build, shown in earlier posts on this thread.

Lowered the 55' by an inch all around and put the headlights in today. Still working on the hood scoop...still too high.

Searched long and hard for a set of 4 hole Halibrands and don't plan on selling these. Was checking how they fit in the pic and found out the axles are redrilled for Chevy.:( Be changing that back when the rear comes out to fix the perches.
