Thank you every one for your support! I had a great trip with your help. I met with the surgeon after all the pre-op testing he told me that he would only remove some of the calcium deposits. He said I would be able to close my arm but the extension I currently have is with in tolerable limits. I moaned and groaned till he agreed to do an MRI and CT scans and consider to remove all of the calcium deposits. After he reviewed the images, he agreed to remove it all! That was a close one! Well he did a great job! While on the table he moved my arm in both directions and got full range! Its painfull still because I can't take pain medications but with the use of a heating pad I can touch my face with that arm for the first time in almost 3 years! I know there is many more surgeries to go but I'm very happy with this one! Thank you all again!

In 2009, we all nearly lost my son Cliff Golby (Odins701) in a horrible accident of unimaginable pain. Pain. Hell. Agony more like. A parent should never hear the blood and body fluids of a child dripping off a bed unto a floor. Dripping. Dripping. His blood on the floor. Should never see flesh coming undone. More. So much more.

The things his wife had to see. And do. My God, what a strong woman.

Several nights in a row Clifton's surgeon said he was not likely to make it through the night. But he came through. Against all odds, and I do mean ALL odds, he came through. He's done everything they said he would never do again. The first one being live. All but for the use of his hands and his arms. Now he has a chance to recover.

Three locations in the States can do transplants of muscle and nerve repair and make arms and hands work again. One is at Mayo of Jacksonville. Clifton's first visit is on June 11th.

A lovely man, Eric Riley, on his Facebook page has offered to match every donation of $4.00 or more up to $300.00 toward our fund raising to fund Clifton's travel expenses to begin the rebuilding of his arms.

brother. i dont know what to say. i just thought i had it bad. after a motorcycle wreck in 05 left me crippled up and in 110% pain i wanted to die. i broke both my hips, left my left knee in the road and have brian damage. and nerve damage that keeps my body burning like fire. i cant imagine what you must have gone thru. i admire you greatly.your attiude is outstanding. my pain and being angry because i cant do what i want to do, that i need to do to keep some kind of normal to life has turned me into a mean old man. i have to take lots of narcotics to keep from screaming . i dont see how you do it.!now i have to deal with a addiction and the aftermath of all this.they told me id never walk again or ride. well boy did i show them. i walk with a painful limp but i walk. and i still ride a hardtail chopper! and i am back in my shop. i had to use a walker to get there for awhile but i got there! now i use my cane to get me around.GOD BLESS you man.you have become a inspiration for me!!!!

 

Last friend of mine that burst in to flames at home was doing VERY illeagle shit! Couldn't even wipe his own ass for a while after that. However it happened, a burn is a burn and it takes forever to heal, so I am praying for him.

 

I just saw this thread - totally amazing guy you are! I'm in awe of your strength and character, you are an inspiration my friend. Keep pushing to the next goal, you'll achieve everything even remotely possible.

It has been awhile since I updated you guys, so here it is. I've been working hard in therapy and now have almost full range of motion in my left arm! Have been doing sissy push-ups, doing 3 to 4 each time. I've been doing computer repair to earn the money for my therapy and that is going well. Dad came up last weekend for my birthday and spent a 3 day weekend working on the hot rod. I'm going to take the body down to his shop next week and leave it with him, he is going to finish it for me! I'm so excited cause at the rate I'm going with these hands, it'll be 10 yrs before I finish. Shortly after I get back, (early feb) I'll be getting finger surgery in the right hand and hopefully end up with straight fingers. Any way thanks guys for all your support and lets make it a great new year!

Cliff, my daughter was injured in an automobile accident in Sept. 2010, suffering traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. She is now a level C4 quadriplegic and needs total care, but her mind is perfect and she is as ornery as she has always been, ready to take on the world! I just texted her the website address. I&#8217;m leaving for florida next Monday for a few weeks. Taking the hot rod body down for Dad to finish it and I&#8217;m going to set-up an online store for him. I&#8217;ll be back a week prior to surgery for pre-op visits.
