Thanks. I've got a stock frame with model A rear cross member. 4" dropped front axle. reversed eye springs. front tires are the same size as stock 40' Ford 16x6.00. wishbone is unsplit original 32 ford

Do you have any more pics of your truck? I've got a 32 chassis and I'm partial to trucks but I haven't seen enough 30/31 P/U on 32 chassis combos yet.

I've only seen a handful of 30-31 pickups on '32 rails and most of them have used the small model A bed. Although some look good, getting that smaller bed to look right over a '32 frame is hard to pull off in my opinion. I think the key to getting the proportions right is to use a wider/taller L'31-'34 bed in back.

We have to raise the rear back up the 2" and change the front wheels.

to put a Model - A body on Deuce rails .

Has anyone modified the bottom of the body to follow the frame like the 32 does?

 

if you mean bottom of body or subrails to follow the frameline?
go to my profile and check my album 28 roadster if you want to see the subrails and floor
to follow the 32 frame.

 

I was actually meaning the bottom of the cowl, doors and rear quarters but cool.

 

but you have to cut the bottom of the cowl to make it
fit the kickup in front of the 32 frame.
doors and 1/4 panels fit good.

 

No no what I meant was that if you sat a model a body on the ground it would sit flat front to back, where as on a 32 it would rock as the bottom of the body follows the sweep of the frame.

pre-assembly, 3/4" front body lowered

 

I shortened the back of my 30/31 roadster to fit on a stock dimension 32 frame and have room for a stock 32 tank under it. I took off the heavy metal piece that goes along the bottom of the back of the body which gained a couple inches and then I put reproduction corners on the body, splitting them and installing them a couple inches higher than stock. I then rebent the panel under the deck lid to match the body line and make it shorter. There was even enough room for a working rumble seat. I'm building a 29 with a buddy that we ware planning to do the same thing. It looks like it will be easier on the 29 roadster because there are fewer body lines on the rear edges to retain.
