I hear ya Boones on the rims. I would really like 20" on the rear if not for the price.
Hey Moparguy not really sure what you want to see. Is it the hinges or the way that they welded it together? Anyway here are a few of each. If you need more tell me what you need and I will get them. It looks like they used some flat stock metal and electrical EMT tubing to weld it together. The hinges are aftermarket and are bolted to the firewall. The firewall is fabbed new metal. Hope this helps.

  2. thanks Jaco. those give me enough info. I appreciate this!! Bud

  3. That panel is awesome! I love the idea for splitting the cargo area into a larger passenger compartment. I'm really digging the reworked windshield area as well, it looks 10x better than stock. It's great to see others doing the alligator style hood. I really want to do it but I am still researching what the best hinges would be to use.

I'm glad this thread is back up!

Here is an update on my panel if anyone cares. I finished up the body work Fri. and put the call out to friends to help with the final block sanding this long holiday weekend. Had two show up Sat. and Sun. and the two others today. We really got alot done these two days. I only like the roof to be ready for final prime and should get that finished Tue..
Had a lot of fun working with my friends. Does not seem like we can get together as much as we use to. Life just seems to get in the way. I really appreciate them taking the time out of there busy schedules to help. Lets not forget to do that for others.
Anyways I know everone likes pics so here a few.
Here is my friend Pete and myself. I am the one in the blue coveralls. That's my buddy Padro's 51 Plymouth in the background. He is here helping but not in the pics as we needed someone to take the pics and he is camera shy.
Then my friend Earl showed up and volunteered to tackle the door jams.
Here we are doing some more blocking. Man this thing is big.
And this is what it looked like when I closed the doors tonight.

Jaco your panel looks awesome. I've had your original thread saved for a long time. Never saw any progress on it and I was worried it was gone. Glad to see you're still working on it..

Nice to see the old MoPar trucks. Here are a few shots of mine. The full story about it is in my ebook; Dreams & Memories, available everywhere.

It is a good old truck I bought it from the original owner, who picked it up at the factory. It has had a 217 motor, 250 Chrysler flathead (with fluid drive and overdrive) and a 302 Ford with a C-4. I can hear the groaning from here... but the small block Ford is a very suitable swap for these.

Here's mine when I got it. I haven't done much but clean it up some and put it in dry storage.

Here's a couple pics of my 52 1.5 ton, before I started tearing into it. I love the larger trucks with the big wheels and fenders.
