Posting on behalf of North Star Dragway:

The Southwest Heritage Racing Association will debut in 2013 at North Star Dragway in Denton, Texas. The S.H.R.A. will host three events in it's inaugural season to introduce the series with intentions of continuing into 2014 with a six to eight race points series with a year end points fund for all classes.

The S.H.R.A. is an organization of drag racing enthusiasts dedicated to preserving the longevity of nostalgia style drag racing in the Southwest. The S.H.R.A. Racing Series includes nostalgia style racing machines with modern safety equipment and specifications. The series includes everything from blown and injected front engine dragsters and altereds to pre-1979 door car and gasser racing. Three index classes and two bracket classes will be in action at every event and the series is proud to also include the junior dragster classes, as we aim to expose the next generation of drag racers to the old school approach to hot rodding.

In 2013, the S.H.R.A. will race in conjunction with the Painless Performance Outlaw Fuel Altered Association on three dates at North Star Dragway: April 6th, July 6th and October 5th. With a wide range of classes and simplified rules system, the S.H.R.A. aims to provide both participants and spectators with an entertaining venue to keep the old school traditional style of drag racing alive! The S.H.R.A. series is currently seeking marketing partners. We look forward to seeing you at the strip! For more information, visit us online at www.shraracing.com.

    4.65 Heads Up Index Class

    5.30 Heads Up Index Class

Nostalgia Bracket Class - Open ET, Dial In Bracket, .500 sportsman tree. FED's, Altereds, Rod, Roadsters, Coupes and Gassers. No Electonics.

The only problem I could see with this is the use of the word "HERITAGE" which is already being used in a nostalgia racing series.

U guys know as well as I do,take the boxes out of the bracket cars and they are just another car to put on the trailer. You have to be open to more years of cars to get car count and to survive in racing you have to have that. Yes it looks way better to have nothing but 64 and older cars but those cars are getting hard to find and it takes big money to get them just to cut up to make a real race car. Just be sure to look for hidden boxes and secret switches.

It used to be called "Footbrake No E" where I raced, they switched it to "No E". The racers at the last race were complaining that next season they are allowing transbrakes in the No Electronics class.

I think each track is different.. Transbrakes suck..

Trans brakes are electric when actavated only by driver input (button on the wheel) and electronic when controled by a box, so as long as they are used with driver input only they should be legal.

The SHRA has added three "Nostalgia Eliminator Only" events for the 2013 Season....This was a result of the unification of the Texas Blown Fuel and Outlaw Junior Fuel Associations into the SHRA Program. Those dates were pre-booked TBFA and OJFA events that were inherited and those programs were not in need of a bracket program for those dates. The SHRA plans to announce a "Sportsman" only event for 2013 and does not want the bracket racers to think they are second string. This is all one effort! We hope to see you April 6th at North Star Dragway for the SHRA season opener!
