Hot Rod Norm Grabowski, I had the pleasure of meeting him at the 2011 Des Moines Heartland Nats. I bought his autographed poster. I have a small story to share: I met him at the kick off party on Thursday night, I went up to him and introduced myself and told him I had looked up to him for years, he said "young man do you even know who I am" I said absolutely (i'm only 33) he was shocked someone my age knew who he was. Your a legend I said, he laughed, we had a good time and I thought it was awesome to meet someone who meant so much to the hot rod community. Very real down to earth person, very much what I would have expected. Any ways I painted this gas pump door and used it as a picture frame for that autographed poster, Its in my car room with all my collector cars and memorabilia. Enjoy

John Thomas, 1951-2010, Leavenworth County, KS. John had an unerring eye for finding and fixing up neat stuff. He could take a rusty piece of near worthless crap from a field and turn it into a decent car running down the road in a few months. I have no idea how many cars and motorcycles he built in his years, but it was a considerable number. He built nice drivers, not show cars, and he drove them fast, hard, and often. The best A on deuce rails I ever have seen was his handiwork, an old California Muroc dry lakes racer he put back together in an absolute work of period correct artistry. Ride on, Bro!

Only got to meet him once, but will always remember he took time from a busy day putting on the "Rama" to stop and make sure we were going to have a good time there. Very cool Dude!!!

I was fortunate enough to get to work along side Nye Frank a year before he passed away in 07, I blame a lot of my ability to fabricate on some of that alone, very inspiring and I'm going to do my best to be like he's was, both humble and innovative! Rip buddy.
