Thanks for that video...I was in the first section of bleachers enjoying the show in warm California. It is 10 degrees out right now in Rhode Island, so this is much appreciated. Did you get any video of the Sunday Cacklefest?
We just our first taste of nasty illinois weather today with a snow/ice mix of crap here in central illinois........MAN I NEEDED THIS VIDEO!!!! Thanks!
Sigh.... now I'm depressed. Really had a good time there and now I'm looking outside, geez some snow today. Where did the summer go, come on March. Had my 14 year old daughter with me, she stood right by the fence during the cackle, grinning the whole time. She never been around nitro before, still talking about it.
Your eyes sting, your chest pounds, your stomach flutters....does it get any better than that? Thanks for posting that, I will live through the winter vicariously through this and other movies...
Let me just say Les, I have seen quite a few of your videos, and I am a Big Fan of your work. Always exceptional shots, and your post production work is outstanding, to say nothing of your choice in sound (music) for your videos. Thank You! And Happy New Year! .
I can smell the sweet nitro fumes and can feel the ground shaking Awesome miss those days Thanks for sharing
Here it is the last day of the year and I'm sitting in front of this laptop with a tear in my eyes , no nitro in the air but still---! Perhaps the cackle and the true beauty of those creations do bring back memories of a Sat. night at Lions or a trip back to a better time for me. I do hope that tradition continues at the CHRR and other events. In the mean time March is just around the corner , Famoso is 275 miles and the cack will be in the air again. Nitro Fix !!
Sitting in front of air cond, It's been over 100 degrees for about 7 days here, but still not as hot as the time we had there.
Thanks for the exceptional video! It sounds even better in the "Man-Room", with the surround sound on, and the subwoofer cranked up. All I'm missing is the smell.....ah, the smell.
That's us at the 8:22 mark pushing Roger Garten in the Tocco, Harper, and Garten Fuel Altered. In the lanes, one of the crew guys thought the tie rod end on the driver's side was too loose, so he tightened it (too much) and poor 'ol Roger had a helluva time trying to turn the car onto the track. Roger is over 70 years old and still drives the War Horse Nostalgia Funny Car like a teenager with no fear. Cool guy. That was a great video. The weather was perfect for cacklin' that night. If you've never been to the CHRR or the March Meet, put it on your bucket list.
Great way to start the New Year! Thanks for posting. Let's hope that these events continue well into the future, the older I get, the more I need them! All the Best in the New Year! KK
