Will a 322 nailhead fit in a standard '38 chevy coupe frame? What about exhaust, starter, and steering issues? I plan to build the exhaust myself. Any info would be appreciated.
The nailhead is long but narrow. It should fit the '38 well. One thing that may be a problem is the starter and the stock steering box could interfere with each other.
I would think so. A buddy just put a modern 6+ liter Chevy truck motor in a 38 Chevy sedan and had no problems and plenty of clearance. That was a VERY wide motor.
I would think length would be the problem. I have a Nailhead that I'm contemplating putting in the Nash, and I'm concerned with clearing the radiator. You may need to recess the firewall...
