Thank you, Sevenevez. The wide whites match the color scheme well. I appreciate the help.

please help me decide a new roof color.
I'm not one to ask for a visual as I can usually envision things well enough, but I'm stumped on this one.

I'm looking at a few options in roof color only, most a bit unusual, all while keeping the soft blue body.

    1. an equally soft/creamy/pale green
    2. metal flake root beer
    3. metal flake bright red
    4. a soft creme/tan

please help, I'd really appreciate it...

I m so bad with those softwares I never thought of trying this :)
Just tried with the Gimp, this method works great and is much faster than what I use to do before !!!
Just using one layer and erasing the places where changing color was not necessary takes less than 3 minutes for a color change.
    Thanks !!!

    wondering if i could get:
    black rims
    dark green paint
maybe a white or black ragtop
some 820-15 rear tires... they are 600-15 on there now
    thanks in advance!

Ok, change of plans! Can you guys do some 60s style paint work and mild lowering? Also swap to chromed stock steel wheels. Any colors, any tires, swap trim if u want, just a cool 60s street custom! Thanks

  15. Would anybody be interested in creating a rendering of a 59 El Camino- Super Cab. Using a 'shortened' GM 59-60 4Door Flatroof Hardtop 'Roof'. Keeping with all the '2dr' proportions. Using 59 Impala body moldings, instead the orig Bel Air, as if it were built for a GM Exec. Gracias

Not quite what you asked for but here is 1 I did A few years ago. It's a 60 and I used the back of a wagon roof. If you can post some useable pictures I'll take a stab at what you want. Profile and the bigger work the best.

Probably not exactly what you want... but maybe a start. can be tweaked to whatever.

edit... after i re-read what you wanted i saw you wanted the 2dr proportions... i may work on that again later haha.

  20. That's amazing looking! I have the roof to do this, (for another project) and the only difference I can see is the 4dr flatrooof HT has the smaller HT coupe windshield. So the roof will be down more than an original Elco.

    Thanks for that, so cool!

  21. Thom Taylor, drew something like this for R&C in the Sketchpad section. That's cool looking though.

So much better without the lakes! I'm actually going to use a 59 Impala 2dr HT door when I get to doing it. It'll be similar to a Tri5 Nomad. Hardtop doors for no apparent reason! Haa

A HAMBer has already actually built one. Perhaps someone reading this thread will remember who. This was only pic I recall seeing.

    Bitchin' proportions.

Very Nice!! Great Job!! Rear Window same as the hardtop or??

  26. Yep, I remember this picture. If I 'member right, the guys has lots of other projects before he gets to this one. It is a '60, but it'll look just as cool using a '59!

  27. I'm going to use the roof from a 4dr flatroof hardtop, shorten it up and use the glass front and back. So I guess you could say, yeah it's the same glass when I'm done

  29. Similar! They didn't use the 2dr doors. They used the whole 4dr flatroof ht, to build this thing.

The image here was a 4door/H/T when it started out. I think that back window would make a kickass windshield.
