Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rancid737, Mar 15, 2011.

  1. Is it just me or would the wheels look better inside the rear fenders and make the front look a bit tbirdesque?

dreamweaver, the body is only 50 inches wide in the rear, so that doesnt leave much room for wheels. Plus, Im kinda partial to the open wheel look. I did some scetches of the body widened and wheels tucked in, and just didnt like it much...thanks for the input though.

Lets do it. You, whiskey bump and I need to coordinate our hangovers though, to maximize productivity.

No new pics, kinda been going slow the last couple months, been busy with other projects. Started on my motor mounts, but didnt like the first design, so I scrapped 'em and started over from scratch. I'll have pics when the new mounts are done.

Few more pics of mock-up to finalize ride height, as well as grill shell/headlight placement. I think im gonna raise the grill a little.

I like the idea you have. front fenders for rear quarters are cool they already have a rolled bead for rear axle travel. cool man.

Well, I checked to see if I ever posted on here and couldn't find anything.
This isn't your true roadster pickup. Many will say it's not a roadster because I have roll up windows, but I still want to show my ride...Jim

Time to roll that puppy outside for a good look session from about 50 feet out both sides, front and rear and don't forget the quartering view.
This will give you a good perspective for the final layout of the grille and other little details of style and proportion.
Can't wait to see the final mockup! Enjoy.

    Rancid,
That's a really cool "transition" piece from the front kick up to the frame rail!

you cant really tell in the pics, but our shop is pretty good size, and i rotated the car around and took a gander, other than the size of the grill shell, I'm happy with it.
That piece was a lot of fun to make, and I think it helps the flow of the frame, instead of just an angular kick...

Those were a pain in the arse, those are the third attempt, previous ones were just....ugly.
