  6. How much HP and torque does it make, cause it looks like you have plenty of engine to do it?

Havent dynoed it so dont really know. Its a 541 cid 15 to 1 compression,.800 lift roller cant remeber duration. Its a sonny bryant crank with oliver rods diamond pistons ,motorsport block, kaase boss 9 heads. Its got 2 660 center squirter carbs done by gene fulton. I think carbs aint enuff for it but gonna run it for now. Our little gasser class we got going on the index or cut off is 5.90. Jus to kinda keep someone from running off with it. Cant have certain electronics. Its jus ole skool style racing. Even the cars are built ole skool.

  8. Yep, you got enough under the hood. Gear ratio's, clutch and chassis tuning and your there.

  9. PS. I've been talking to Quain a bit about your deal. You guys are doing it right! I've got to step on my engine a bunch to come play, but would really like too.

    Hi,
I use the "57bracketracer" web name,

I have a site here where i have more pics of 57 Fords,
some of which are sure to be displayed in this thread.

    http://home.comcast.net/~57bracketracer/

This page has several links to more 57s and the article you are looking for
    on Riki's 57.

    http://home.comcast.net/~57bracketracer/dragcars.htm

After looking at some of the 55 56 cars I think I will add a page with them on it.

Here's my friend's '58 Ranchero. He drove it, used it as a tow vehicle for his brother's '57 Tudor and then raced it with the altered wheelbase as shown (back in the 60's) The car changed hands a number of times but Al was able to buy it back a while ago and it's currently under going a complete restoration of it's altered wheelbase form. FE powered screamer! His brother's '57 has also been restored better than new and runs a 526 cu.in. SOHC! I know I have some pics of it somewhere. Maybe Fast Elvis can help with this. It is an amazing car too.

Thanx Mark. That '57 is the coolest car around here in my opinion. I have a pic of it in it's original form somewhere but can't seem to locate it. I'm look'n!

Oh hell yeah! Do you have a build thread on this car? What time does it run in the quarter?
I've loved the 55-56 Fords since I was a little kid in the '60s. My friends' older brother owned one, Y-block, 4 speed, lumpy cam, high nose, no bumper & all. I'd run outside to watch and listen to the car whenever he was coming down the street. I hope to build something along these lines the next time around. Don't know if I can find a 427 over here but I do have an early 429 on the engine stand, just waiting for a new home.
