This was originally my wifes Grandfathers Caddy that was parked in the garage in 1976 when he passed away. I have been after them for twenty years to do something with it and they finally agreed to sell it to my wife for a 15th wedding anniversary present for me. FINALLY!! Its all mine!! Cant wait to head back up to North Carolina and dig it out of the barn and clean it up. Hopefully I will be able to get it running fairly easy and get to driving it. Im sure that will be easier said than done but hell, thats half the fun isnt it?

  2. 59 is pretty much the holy grail when it comes to Caddys, so i'm thinking you're a lucky man.

Congrats! What are your plans for it? Get it running and keep it as-is or full restoration?

  19. hope the frame is in good shape. Looks to be sitting mighty close to that old damp barn floor.

Wow, great find! And, it's a family car!
Hopefully the mice didn't find a way inside the interior.
The car was only 17 years old when he parked it.

    Must me low mileage?

Do you know why it was parked? Engine trouble or Grandpa quit driving (front fenders show a few signs of "parking by sound")?

    Post some additional photos!

  30. A true American icon....one of those cars that looks and rides great stock. Marvelous engineering for its' time. Unless it has severe issues, it should be considered an investment as you restore it. Javier got in a little too deep on this one, but you might want to read this thread to know what will help you make some decisions: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=356515
