heres what I have done so far, and yes I can criticism so please let me know what you all think( I have never done this before but I think its coming along good)....
Good for you for doing it yourself !! Looking good, keep us posted. BTW I love the library in SV !! Tom
I say it looks great !!! I have chopped two mercs and you are doing it like I have seen many done !!!
Hew Shawn, I like to get it out in the open to get a good view from all sides, The eye is a great measuring device, If you see the proportions dont look right then do something about it. When you start the rear window placement you want to be able to stand back and make sure it flows. Looks great keep up the great work Andy
Your a brave man , i would love to attempt a mega project like that , it looks good so far , ill be watching ur build , congrats , awesome job , Kev
Looks great so far. Here's one I did last year .. There are some pics here that might help http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/album.php?albumid=27954
Its a trailer hitch that came with a 4 door I bought for extra parts....Match's the bullet on grill and hub caps
Great job so far, keep up the motivation. I will be attempting mine soon. Will be watching your progress.
You are a brave soul to jump on your first chop using a shoebox! Lookin good so far, as mention, make it flow in the rear!
Congrats on taking the plunge yourself. It's only metal, you can fix it if you screw it up. Just ask me how I know. Looks good so far.
wellI moved car outside today during sunlight, was working till 6 but son was sick so I left early.. anyways I think rear window will be good on laying down once I remove more metal , but I do like the roof So I want to show off another thing I made to move cars from outside to inside fuckin thing works great , was a Harbor freight winch that I mounted to floor and pulls almost anything up the hill (as long as on wheels), Anyways more of roof
Well Happy New Year and I finally had days off and nice weather so I worked on roof some more. And I started to get some of the Ugly off the panels, I think today I will work on passenger side
Looking really good! Just curious, what kind of welder are you using and what is the temp? Looks like you could be using a little more heat on your welds and get them a little better and save yourself some grinding, just remember spot and move the spot and let it all cool really well, hell do a few spots and then go strip some paint on the car then come back and spot a couple more. Not trying to tell ya what to do just what I think I see from here, but it is hard to tell in pictures LOL! Jim
Great start ! Very cool ! AND, you did the right thing...the thing that all the Pros do during extensive work like you're doing: THEY MOVE 'EM OUTSIDE TO GET A GREAT ALL-AROUND LOOK AT WHAT THEY'RE DOIN'...AND SEE WHAT NEEDS WORK, AND WHAT DOESN'T ! Ya done good... Jonnie www.legends.thewwbc.net
