Your pics are awesome. Can you explain what technique you use for the effects? I'm not asking you to give up your trade secrets, unless you care to. :) Is it a combination of camera settings like HDR and photoshop?

Thanks so much, David. It was great meeting you as well, especially after being a fan of your web site for so many years. Definitely drop me a line if you are going to be in the neighborhood.

  8. This is one of my favorites! Is this HDR? I like the way that it looks kind of drawn or painted. Any tips on creating this type of effect. I'm a newbie photographer and photoshop newbie!

Thanks for sharing your pics. I like your style.

Thanks Wide Whites. The shot of Top Notch is definitely HDR - 3 exposures -1,0 and +1. I used details enhancer in Photomatix to make it. A few different Topaz filters applied to different areas of the image to clean it up a bit.

Here is the mostly monochrome version of the Caddy above.

Thanks choptup 49, rsluggoboy and Emily. Emily - if it helps, you are much better than I was at your age. Keep it up - you will be amazing, I'm sure.

Also - I have a much newer thread - actually a few of them.
