thanks the number on the piston are 192x i bought as a 4 1/8 stroker piston for a merc flathead

 

There are no piston numbers even close to that in my book. The flathead piston numbers in my book are c790dr with different strokes available. I would give them a call. They are in Anaheim Ca. 714-579-3795

 

I thought Jahns was bought up by someone a few years ago.

are they labeled Jahns? or did the seller just tell you they were?

 

they are lable on the bottom of the piston it has jahns on one side and192x on the other side

 

the piston has 1/8 lc on the top and 3 5/16

they are shorter then my 3 3/4 stroke pistons by 125 so they must be 4 inch stroke so what is th 1/8lc stan for

 

1/8" less or( lower) compression distance I would guess.

 

I emailed the people in Anahiem & they told me they didnt have the books for old Jahns pistons

Heres how I think it works 1/8 is the wrist pin is higher in piston by 1/8. 3-3/4 stroke ford with this piston would be low compress with this piston. 4 inch stroke merc crank has 1/4" more stroke 1/8 higher and 1/8 lower so you have 4" stroke merc pistons that are 3 5/16 bore.

 

so you think i have a 3 3/4 stroke -1/8 that would be the same as a 4 inch stroke then

 

If the #192's are only 1/8" shorter than the pistons that you KNOW to be for 3-3/4" stroke, then I would think they were intended for use with a 4" stroke (as you said in post #11), not 4-1/8" stroke. Maybe thats why somebody got rid of them?

that is what i was thinking they have the 1/8 lc on top i bought as a 4 1/8 stroke that was i was told they were
if i stick a pin from one piston to the other one it is .125 shorter then my 3 34 that i took out of my block
so if they were 4 1/8 theyshould be shorter yet by anouther .0625 right

 

That is absolutely correct. You might get away with them on a 4-1/8" stroke, but compression would be awful high. Also the skirts might not clear the counterweights at or near bottom of the stroke. Just curious, is the pin the same height from the bottom of piston on both? I would think that they would have to be, or you would have the interference problem I just mentioned.

 

yes they are on the front and back sides but on the top and bottom they are longer by a little
