What is a model A rear end assy. worth?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Hackman, Dec 18, 2012.

  1. I have a local guy interested in the one from my running driving coupe. What's a good asking price for one? I really don't even know where to start.

    Thanks

I'm interpreting you to mean a stock model a rear axle assembly. If so, I can't see it bringing any more than $100 maybe $200 to someone who needs it. Aside from a restorer buying it they don't have a lot of value.

I sold the 47 rear axle assembly I had for $200 and was happy to get that.

  6. Ya its totally stock. Nice one too. Good brakes and nice hardware. 200 sounds good. Thanks

Good mechanical or good hydraulic brakes. If hydraulic, those are worth as much as the axle almost.

  9. Sorry Don. I should have clarified that. They are mechanical. The guy is restoring a sport coupe and wants a stock stock rear. I figure a couple hundo should get the deal done. Thanks guys

I sold the one outta my coupe for $250...

  11. Normally I figure they're worth their weight in scrap; one out of a drivable car with good brakes should fetch at least double that.

Scrap to $250.00, condition and gear ratio make all the differance. Many, well maybe most would rather have the later banjos, and as stated earlier a juice brake upgrade adds value for sure.
