Have been told the Borgeson and Classic Performance model 500 steering boxes for tri five chevies are based on OEM steering boxes used by some Isuzus, Toyota Cressidas, early Supras, and some Toyota pickups.
    1) Can anyone point me to the years I should look for?
    Thanks

80s toyota 4x4 mini trucks. Since you're in Colorado go to Jim's Yota Yard for a used one at a decent price.

  4. Kinda looks like a Solid Axle 4x4(pre '86) Toyota pickup box?

    i've heard Any solid front axle 4x4 Toyota(Not IFS). That means like 79 to early 85. I know there's 2 different ones for toyotas 1 for 2 wheel & 1 for 4X4.

What are ya putting it on/in?

I'm hoping using on my 37 Roadmaster.
Found this link that shows three styles steer boxes used by 4runners
    http://www.4wdandsportutility.com/tech/0803_4wd_toyota_4x4_builders_guide/photo_22.html

These look a lot like the CPP model 500 but would even work better for me because I want to put the steer box on the outside of the frame because frame is very narrow.
    See pictures.
Seems like the 88-95 with a quicker ratio would be the best.
    1) Does anyone know why the 88-95 4runner steer box would not work?
    Thanks

2wd or IFS Toyota Pickup, NOT solid axle 4x4 Toyota pickup or 4Runner! The solid axle steering is SIDE STEERING, with a rearward facing drag link, not cross steering. The one featured on the blue truck above is a 2wd or IFS box on a solid axle 4x4 truck, for a crossover steering conversion, as are many of the pictures that you see in a web search.

Stock solid axle 4x4 Toyota steering setup, the front of the vehicle is to the left:

    Thanks everyone for your help.
Looks like this may be a good fit for my project.
