34peecup: Whose chassis are you using?

 

how long is your wheelbase? it looks right on.

 

here's mine. was thinking of doing a build thread since it's at the upholstery shop but didn't think anyone would care for it.

 

I'm starting one...27 Touring front half on a bobbed '28 A chassis. Going to run a '30 A motor, 0.060" over, Winfield SU-1R cam, Winfield 6:1 head, Winfield SR-B carb, Model B distributor. Chassis will be shortened 12" zee'd 4" with a T rear spring and 32-34 front axle.

Had my daughter's T outside for a look. Tried fenderless, then with the fenders we want to run. Front wheels and tires are going. Need a smaller tire on the front. Sticking with hubcaps. Maybe not the caddies, but definitely hubcaps. Her T tub runs F1 front brakes, but we are upgrading the coupe to discs as she drives her car hard and a lot.

 

I'm waiting for my frame; to build my steel '27 T roadster with a '36 Cadillac 322 monoblock, Caddy 3-speed toploader, Model A open shaft, Chrysler tube axle up front, and Caddy wheels. The car's gonna look pretty wicked with the exhaust headers exiting the top of the hood and wrapping down the sides then aft.

The grille's a '34 Buick series 40, the windshield is Duvall-style and the hood will hug the cowl just forward of the windshield, like a '33-'34. Funny how the '26-'27 bodies lend themselves to that treatment.

I made the new tye rod adaptors for the early style ends and got rid of the newer type ends on the bones. I made them a little longer.

More info please! What wheels/tires? I thought France was like super strict on hot rods? As in you basically can't have them.

 

Trying to piece together a 27. I'm looking for a model a truck bed somewhere in kansas area For not to much money and not terrible shape. Good luck to me lol

 

I don't suppose Easy Charlie on the I70 would have any at the right price?

 

I build all the chassis. 2"x3" tubing. Wheelbase on this one is 102"

My brothers 1926 T with a Buick V6

 

Heres a pic of the new ends. I don't have taper attachment fixture for the lathe so it took me a while to figure out how to make one. There is a hamb member that makes very nice ones but the bore is different than a model a bone. You can see where where the other attachment point was, i have yet to fill the hole in.
I also took a pic of the rear shackle, i'll add a zerk fitting to it. I'll use the same fastener/shaft for the rod end of the new lower control arm and add another tab/brace on the other side of the heim so it'll be double shear there as well. I am adding the lower control arm as a result from another thread.

 

Woha! Cool. Those look like '29 Chevy wheels and an early Stovebolt??

heres a 27 that ive owned for 20 yrs and is undergoing a complete tranformation with all new chassis and design, a blown talldeck is at the machine shop and panning on a launch time by louisville

 

That has potential - will you use the fibreglass as a 'buck'? I tried the inline 6 in a tee (a twincam Jag) and just couldn't work everything out the way i wanted.
