The rear main seal needed to be replaced. It wouldn't come out so I had to pull the engine. Timing had needed to be replaced. After breaking it almost all the way down I decided to go ahead and rebuild it.

If anyone is looking for a great builder without rust and can be driven PM me.. I have the perfect wagon just sitting while "everyone" say they are looking for one. Really hate to see it go.

5500 bought it last year as is except I replaced the front drivers door and repaired the rusted out sections of the front floor pans. I also tuned it up and it purrs. Very easy build on this one or drive as is. I'm located in Killeen, Texas and no you cant drive it across country; not yet anyway.

Just listed my super nice 62 wagon on the HAMB classifieds yesterday.

  9. In 1968 I totaled my dads 1962 BelAir wagon when I collided with a with gasoline truck,,I had my girlfriend sitting beside me and the wagon was loaded down with all our band equipment.

I really loved that car as did my dad.

We played a gig that night but I sat in a chair and played my bass,,man was I a hurting frog,,my girlfriend spent most of the evening with a oral surgeon repairing broken teeth. HRP

Finally got it back running afetr rebuilding the engine. I also pulled the front susepnsion out and rebuilt it. There is a local guy who has a brand new disc brake setup for the car that uses the stock spindles. Just going to drive it a little first.

Here's a picture of my sons 1962 Chevy Belair Wagon. It has a crate 350, 700r4 OD trans, Power disc brakes and power steering. It makes for a great cruiser.

  17. I dig the 61 Taillight lenses, doing that to mine as well. Now I can visualize what mine will look like!
