Pic Request: Weiand "Say Why And" Parts

Anyone have a photo of an old Weiand manifold or blower case with that tag line cast in it? I know they exist but cannot locate a picture.

I'll get you a pic of mine when I get home later tonight.
I've got 2 Weiand intakes for BB Mopars, one 4 bbl and the other is a 2x4. Both say weiand in small case with a star next to it and at the other end of the manifold it says "say why-and!"

My friend has a '69 or '70 Chevy pickup and he's been buying parts to whore it up. He got a monster tunnel ram for it and he was showing it to me, and sure enough, it's one of the old Say "WHY-AND" ones, I just about shit. Usually he comes up with some chintzy stuff but that unit was really cool. If I go over by him any time soon I'll shoot a pic.

I do not believe that BLOWER CASES were ever made with that. Back in the "why-and" era, they mostly used stock GMC cases. You MIGHT, MAYBE could find a rear bearing plate or something, but probably not the case.

My 63 1/2 catalog shows many parts with the star logo, intakes, valve covers, timing covers,blower manifolds, blower rear covers, popoff valves etc. It looks like the block letters predate the star logo. It says all the valve covers were available in magnesium. Anybody have any or seen any? Any aplication, just curious.

I have a pair of 348/409 valve covers that have that saying but no pic handy.

I have never ran across any mag valve covers. I wonder if anyone has some to show?

 

Today at the Long Beach swap meet I saw a rear blower bearing plate with just the star only... thought it might have had the words "say why-and" removed, but then there was the front tri-plate that also had the star only...


Also at the swap was a rear bearing plate that also was an early Weiand, with wording. Forgot to pay close enough attention to see if it said "say why-and", but it almost seems it did.

You'd think I'd have been carrying a camera around, but noooo....

 

I just scored a Drag Star intake for my Pontiac motor, and it has the "say... " logo. Looks like it's never even been run.

 

Gonna drag this old thread to the top cause its a neat one and i have some stuff to add to it.

got a set of small block covers a while back and a matching cross ram.

in the last 2 weeks i bought a set of y-block ones from a fellow hamber and scored some pontiac ones from e-bay. so i figured id post some pics here.

anyone else have any stuff that hasnt been mentioned?

Any of you fellers have a pair of the "say why-and" style valve covers for a SBC (like the pair Titus has, the pair with the fin valleys painted red) for sale? I'm DESPERATELY!! seeking a pair to put on my FED engine. Please let me know if you do. Thanks.
