Here's my "new" baby. '66 I picked up for $1800. Going to be my first project. I'm excited and intimidated at the same time, as I have no experience. Will post a rebuild thread so y'all can rag on me once I get started.

That thing looks badass...is that about a 9-11" step notch?? I just got my 63 notched and bagged now lays on the ground and I'm stoked on it. Did you have any issues with the driveshaft hitting the crossmember where the trailing arms connect to??

    Hey there,

Got a 63 driver with 230 and a 66 project (long to short conversion) with 283, both 3-speeds. My grandfather always had one or two, and so did my dad. Gramps is gone and dad is disabled from MS. Driving these beauties connects me to the young men they used to be and helps me see things through their eyes. I love thumbing through this thread and enjoying all the gorgeous trucks you all have built.

    Keep it up!

  17. I was wondering if someone with a 60 or 61 Chevy hood could measure the side of the hood from the rear edge down the side to the front where the two sections meet at the seam toward the front corner.

I have just found a C60 hood in perfect condition I want to stretch so it can work on my C10. It measures 25 1/2 " along the same points.

I found out today from Jon that it measures 39 5/8" point to point...

    Here's a 66 I had about 4 years ago. 327, Powerglide.

And here's a 64 my dad and I put together and I drove to high school. We both drove this one year round for about 3 years until someone stopped by wanting to buy it. The guy drove it to Indiana about 7 years ago. 283, 3 on the tree.
