I always like this topic, and have not seen one up yet as the year is coming to an end.

I bought and sold quite a bit this year.

Sold my 51 Chev that I had built in high school.

Used that cash to buy a 28 roadster body from "old soul" here in the HAMB.

    ImageUploadedByTJJ1355464398.978613.jpg

Bought a 53 merc 3/4 ton for the flatty
    And scrapped it.
    ImageUploadedByTJJ1355464463.678981.jpg

    Sold my 41 international
    ImageUploadedByTJJ1355464518.626900.jpg

Sold a rust free 51 Chev parts car
    That I didn't need anymore.
    ImageUploadedByTJJ1355464591.048028.jpg

Had a 28 sedan for ten years and always had plans to fix it up but a roadster is what I really wanted so I sent the sedan on its way.
    ImageUploadedByTJJ1355464659.832945.jpg

And traded my 28 coupe body and a merc 1 ton for an off topic 84 Chev 4x4.

I know the 4x4 is off topic but I'm only 22 and the ladies seem to like it more than a rusty 28 coupe body on a rack. Lol

So thats about it for this year.
Post what iron you bought or flipped...

 You scrapped a Mercury truck?

I almost traded the ghetto Lumina in my driveway for a '54 Ford 2-door sedan with a stuck Y-block. Almost.. Other than that, it's been buying parts, parts, and more parts.

  3. That's what I said, even crappy Merc-only parts have to be worth a few bucks off that thing.

I'm trying to sell everything, I dumped a '49 Stude pickup, a '53 Willys Aero, my '50 Chevy Fleetline, scrapped a late model van, and so far that's been it.

Some of the stuff that hasn't sold amazes me - the '51 Merc coupe roof and doors; the Model A pickup.. those should have been gone in a few weeks. The late model Suburban I posted for sale at scrap price that runs and goes, too.

I bone stripped the sucker. Sold the box kept the glass interior etc. And sold all the emblems and such already. Just the cab and frame was left from the merc.

Bought 41 studebaker m5. It's currently in pieces, awaiting it's fresh motor and lower stance.

Sold a differential I had picked up in trade from a now-gone friend.
Sold some chrome multi-pattern wheels I had received help in identifying from the H.A.M.B.
Wish I had sold a transmission but that'll happen sometime soon.
Sold myself on pursuing a different career path.

A few months ago i lost my job so i sold my fibreglass 41 Willys Coupe Gasser project but was able to still keep my 354 Hemi that was set up in it.

Also just sold a 1937 TJ Richards Willys Sedan that i had cut up to make into a 41 Willys Coupe . I sold it with a pair of genuine steel Coupe doors and steel trunk lid.

I did buy a genuine steel 1940 Willys Coupe that was imported to Australia over 20 years ago that came from Valmeyer Illinios.
I am boxing a chassis now and gunna fit the Hemi in it hopefully over the Xmas holidays
I also just started back working again grrrrrrrrr .

  12. Sadly, I had to sell my baby :(

Sold my house for less than we paid but glad it is gone. Sold my chopped shoebox that I got a few years ago from a HAMBer to another HAMBER (and I saw he sold it on Ebay a few months later). Bought this '31 Ford sport coupe pickup that is my avatar. So all in all a fairly tumultuous year for a 70 year old. I find I like status quo as I age. But we needed to be in an apartment, wife's health issues and close to family and doctors. Without a shop/garage, I needed a fairly complete get in and drive it toy.

  18. Bought the 54 that is in my avatar. Changes are in the works.
    Later,
    Dick

  19. Sold the '46 Hudson Super Six and the IH Travelall.

Bought the Dodge D100 Sweptline pickup and my o/t Dodge "hippie van".

Got rid of a few parts.

I bought plenty of parts for my'62 galaxie, sold a few sbc and flathead parts along the way. I may end up selling my galaxie now though. It's been a rough year for unseen events and I am at the point that I can't afford to get the car to where I want it, so even though it sucks and will most likely mean I have no hamb friendly car this whole next year, the money would be nice to have as a cushion

  23. I thought that I had sold everything. Sold my flathead powered 1929 coupester, along with a spare Model A frame and tons of spare parts. Just the other day, I discovered that I still have a pair of 37-41 roundback spindles. The wife and I are getting up in years, and want to move to a smaller property. Once we get relocated, I will probably...for the first time in my life...buy a car that someone else built. I don't know how that will work out because I have always enjoyed building more than owning. I do get a kick out of driving my 1962 TR4, and will never let it go.

  26. Amazingly I only bought one vehicle. a 66 GMC 1/2 ton long bed with factory granny four speed. Its really rusty but runs & drives. I really just wanted the four X eight sheet of 1/4 diamond plate in the bed. I bought a V6 -92 diesel power unit got it running & sold it. I bought 4 tandem axle trailers. 2 gooseneck and two bumper pull. Ive sold lots big loads of stuff at the recycling scrap yard:eek: and a few parts (mostly to hamb members:)). I sold my 69 firebird and a 57 chev Pk. Im slowly and steadily thinning out the hoard. as the old song goes . you gotta know when to hold em and when to cash in. Next year I plan for the bulk of my vehicles to be hauled to the scrap yard. That guy has ready cash money dont care about condition or if its got a title. selling to john Q public is just a hassle. most are lookie lou time wasters. OldWolf

  28. I traded this 58 convertible for this 35 Dodge truck.Sold the 64 Chevy truck and the 72 F100 to have enough money to buy the 32 coupe back. Needed more room so after about 25 years of owning the 72 Vette I gave it away to my daughter.
I have had a busy trading year. No wonder I am broke.
I need to get rid of about half a dozen more this year...
