A very cool find. And while I can sort of get my head around the sentiment that the body should left as is..... I cannot understand leaving it non-running. It's only a car if you can drive it.

Are you fucking kidding me? Never felt like firing it up ever again after 2 passes, the guy was going to pass because it wasnt a model A AND now the new owner isn't going to do as much as get it to fire?

I'm glad it's not in the barn anymore but I really do hope it finds it's way to a real loving home soon. Maybe speedy bill will be the museum he sells to.

I was going to say the same thing but I am also wondering why not finish the body? I would get it running again and return it to the same way it looked when it ran at the drags. Cool car though.

    Good story and find.
    I have a aquaintance that has a 32 5 window he's owned since 51.
Bought it off a car lot with, filled top, juice brakes ,button tuft interior. Seems like he paid 350.00 for it. I will have to find pictures of of it. Basically rust free, paint good, and running. He said he fell in love with it the first time he saw it.

I sure wouldn't leave it as is. I think it should be restored to it's glory days, and kept that way.

It would drive me crazy having that car and not being able to drive it or hear it run.

  21. I looked all over that car at the Iron Invasion, cool story.

I agree...it would be like Jake Jacobs not restoring the Niekamp roadster.

That is amazing. Is the guy with the slicked blonde hair leaning against the stack of tires on the trailer the old man with the cane in the newer pic? God, that scares the shit out of me to get old.

  24. There is also an article on it in the latest HRD.
    One and done.
Could be the coolest survivor story yet.

    What a waste !

  26. I understand not restoring it but it would be nice if the owner got it running if nothing more than to hear the flatty singing it's tune.

  27. Very Sweet find!

  28. This is the picture that should be shown in the dictionary under traditional .

Wow, so bitchin! I do hope it stays as is and is shown all over. I'd love to see it in person.
