Amanda Uren of the Retronaut site posted this from 1965. Leave it to toymakers to dream up
something NEW to wear Dad out BUT give him a thorough cardio workout! (Glad this wasn't
still around when my kids were little! They wore me out with piggybacks and bouncing on
my foot. I wore out, but they never did! :D)

There was said to be one also, located in Norwalk
in the triangle between Firestone Blvd. and Imperial
Hwy at Orr & Day. Currently a gas station.

I'd be more inclined to think this kid was building the base for a "crate" based scooter, not inventing the skateboard, given the vintage of the photo. Gary

YEP!----We used to nail a wood crate to the board with a smaller piece on top for handles.---Then someone came up with the idea of nailing a small tin can at rear, stuffing it with paper & lighting a match to the paper,---Then take off trailing "Smoke"!!!----Don:D:D

This is photo-shopped. There is a '58 Vette and '58 Chev wagon. Try to take a picture of a drive-in screen with a movie in progress at twilight with a film camera in 1958 and see what you get. Do you think you could draw that kind of a crowd in L.A. for a two-year old movie?

Hey, Don! Here are a couple of cool menus for ya. I understand that the Hamburger Hamlet -- the original and the later
ones, too -- were something special!

As Pat Paulson would say on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in

This car has a lot of the same design cues as one he worked on 6 years later.
