Is that just some L bracket stock used in the mounting of the crossmember???

Hopefully there are some plans to box that up some?

Overall, car is making real solid progress! I am partial to seeing modern engines in old rides, so an LS transplant just makes so much sense!

Nevermind, another pic of the frame showed the mounts and they are much more stout than I had though.

Again, looking good! I'm in for pics when it comes back together!!!

Looking good! I toyed with the idea of an LS based powerplant for mine, but decided to keep as much classic to it as I can. Going to hopefully start on my suspension in a few weeks, good motivation here!

How's the clearance around the headers for the steering shaft looking with the Mustang II front?

    What engine are you using?

It is very tight, i already gave them a few dents here and there for clearance but the steering link is looking real tight.

    The engine is a 2008 6.0 "LY6"

Nice progress! The frame looks great all assembled. That motor looks killer and ready to burn-up some tires.

ricky, I like your solution for the trans. I was just looking at how to raise mine up when I install the MII this winter (place the order last week). I am debating in my head between attempting to put my BBC in it or go with a 5.3 or 6.0L LS motor... in place of the 327 I ran last year (it was a fresh rebuild but the driver side is blowing smoke, especially when off idle so it has to come apart to check it out). plus a LS motor or BBC will have more power, which is better.

The only reason i chose to run the ls engine was due to the fact that i already had this engine it came out of my camaro build that i sold as a roller. http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112512&highlight=ricardo1969

I always wanted a BB427 but since i had this engine well i put her to good use.

I still have to figure out my pedals,i bought a set of 73 camaro pedals for the firewall mount.
I had to cut and modify the pedal mounting bracket so now it can attach to the firewall access plate, and bolts up above the column.
Not sure if it will work yet but it is looking promising i will be using a power brake 4 wheel disc set up.
For now my attention is going to focus on getting the bottom of the car done so i can slap the frame back under the body.

Today i finished the taillight repairs, i am still considering leading over the repair area to smooth things out? not sure i bet body filler could do the same.
These were the holes i was left with thanks to the old's taillights the previous owner installed.

Ricky- whatcha planning to do with the new one? If you're going to part it out, I could REALLY use the front fenders...

The repair you did on the tailights... awesome work, btw.

Your transmission crossmember is slick too- with the K member gone, how does that affect the frame's strength? Any additional bracing needed?

Good score! Surprised nobody's pointed out the turn signals; one '51 and one '52.

Here are a couple of pics of the panel I messaged you about. Drivers side is missing and the passenger side shows in black. Hope this is clear enough, if not I may have to jack it up and pull the wheels to get a good shot.
Thanks for looking. Congrats on the nice car.

Talk about late to the party . . . just found this thread. Love what you're doing Ricky. I also prefer reliability and hp to the idea that it must be done the way it would have in the '50s (or whatever). Good show!

Looks like he's talking about the inner front fender, where it attaches to the firewall on the fender side?
