White wall slicks on mags are ok. But as stated either on a show car or a drag car. That late of a caddy I'd be feeling some thin whites.

I for the Supremes' with pinners,I think you need some black side wall between rim and white wall, anything else takes away from the rim.

Depends completely on the car, in my opinion. An example--my Buick, fresh from the booth. It had new Diamondbacks/Supremes on it when I got it(looked like ass), and I had a set of 1" Firestones/Pacers I felt would look better. I'd already changed the fronts....

I have the Diamondbacks on my 60 now(lipstick on a pig:D)...Looks okay, huh? Does to me anyway

    I agree.

...unless that is going to be a crazy 60's style show car like the Lil' Coffin.

wide whites are the most abused and confused part we (you) use on our old cars.

For some reason that i can't explain, i dig the look on hot rods, yet not so much on customs (or car's built after 35 for me)..
Then again, there are a few customs, or later models, that pull it off with style..just like the Riv posted earlier in the thread. It works there.
It all come's down to personal preference. I prefer pin whites on Supremes, but that sure as hell don't mean it won't "work" on the right car, set up the right way.
    My worthless 2 cents..
    Carry on :D

I guess thats makes me a pimp or pedofile....

I had that combo on my 64 chevy truck and 59 nomad wagon
And that gold 61 buick mentioned in links above was built by my best friend.
    he must suck too...

This is my own personal opinion. To me, I always thought they couldn`t afford the wider whitewalls or they didn`t want to spend the extra dough. , the skinnier the whitewall, the the less they cost. This also goes for the Fiffties customs. Although, this is a popular trend. But then again, I`m a pimp who has to look good in a depressed economy.

Bullshit-ta on the 'wrong era' quote. The right combination (car, color, stance, ect) proves them wrong. A semi gloss Uni-body FORD TRUCK had that combo at an early Pile UP (RIP) and it was kill-ar. A few doughnuts would have ruled, right Ed?

This board is certainly changing ! What the heck is with the comment of being a "pedofile" being determined by the tire and wheel combination on your car.....

Wow, then we wonder why some great people never post anymore !!!!
