Projects that finally hit the road in 2012

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Nov 30, 2012.

  1. I know I am not the Lone Ranger,, a lot of us have finally been able to drive that pile of parts this year,,

How about some photos and how long did it take to finally get there.

This is the 1954 "Ranch Wagon",,it took exactly 9years and one month to the day to make it a running driving car. HRP

  4. Well worth the time spent, very nice. I can't play along on this one because I "finished" my roadster last year.

Mine is a hell of a lot less glorious, but I'm grinnin' as I drive! Only a year and half (between customer stuff) on this one. Next, the RPU needs to move under it's own power.

Nice work everyone! I'm hoping 2013 will be the year for the maiden voyage!
Gotta have goals or it will be 20never!
HotRodPrimer, when you first started your project, how long did you anticipate it would take? The car is beautiful!

  12. I'm like Lowrders I'm shooting for 2013. Got some nice rides here. Glad you got to enjoy them this year!

Dad's '33,he started on the car for the owner of the car in 2002 and the owner didn't want to spend any money on it and he bought it in 2008.Took us 4 years to get it on the road in Jan.'12.

  16. This car was purchased by my wife's grandmother when it was brand new,,it had sat in my barn for many years and I drug the car out of the barn in February 2003 with the intention of cleaning it up and just get it running,,I figured I would be able to drive it by spring,,,

The deeper I dug the worse it got,,long story short,,a lot of rust was replaced with new metal,,,107 patch panels to be exact!

The car has been completely apart,,every nut and bolt. HRP

I took two weeks off of customer work and thrashed this one together from some spare parts of previous builds. Nothing pretty just a fun little beater and a great driver it has turned out to be. Sometime the loose lowbuck no holds barred builds are the funnest . Here is a shot of sorting through parts from the barn and of the truck done. You guys have built some great stuff this year. All are great but I saved the pic of the Tub for future reference. Nice job, nice execution, great eye.
    Jesse.

Mine was just a light cleanup from a dated car that had been sitting for many years. I bought it in Dec 2011 and drove it all summer after making it roadworthy and deleting some excess. It still has a long way to go.

I am shifting focus to my 29 Chevy build now.

Not a major project, but it was new to the road for me in 2012.

  22. Everyone's rides look great! Very inspirational. I'm another one that hopes to get mine to a better place this year.

  23. As bought from a guy in La La land 4 years ago..

It had a few issues (!) so i cut it up and rebuilt it..

And finally got it registered and on the road in 2012.

Just changed the tires, 8.20x15 and 5.60x15 Firestones. I have a few more things planned but it's a driver and I'm happy.

The project I finished isnt HAMB friendly but it took second place in a car show its first day finished, because I wouldnt show 'em the motor.
    2013 are the 61 Galaxie's and the 57 Ranch Wagon's time.

  29. On the road, but far from finished. Eventually it will get paint and an interior. But, this is good enough for now.
