What makes your hot rod different?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 30FordNerd, Nov 29, 2012.

  1. It's loud, proud AND a Longroof!

  2. Mine's not different. It's the same. Everybody else is doing their hotrod different so I thought I'd do something totally different and make mine the same. See?

38 standard is my favorite coupe.i had a39 standard and I loved it.your car will be bad ass .one day I'll have mine.

  4. Mine are all different because they are built on the whim of whatever comes to mind at the time. Example is my 35 International that I graphed a 37-8 chev rear window in, and all the body mods, chopped, channel, body line changes, sectioned, pinched ect.

  8. I got a rust free 25 chev roadster tub , no fenders , no top , I crushed a '93 twin turbo Z car, but, I kept the rear diff assy. full posi, full independant, disc brake , fully self contained in it's own framework, so I'll just frame up to it , front will be a 1/2 eliptical, running full leaf springs, upside down , with a spring perch in the center , rear eyes rigid, front eyes on the axle , axle is 1949 chev pickup with a speedway disc kit , I'll have 2 different perches , so I can lay it in the weeds at one show, or go to another show and raise it into the air like a gasser ,(4-bar,panhard) steering will be chain drive , Just a mild powerplant with a baby nailhead / powerglide , and I've got a small grilleshell that weighs about twenty pounds , cast iron , and proudly embossed HERCULES POWER ,across the top, If it is different , I'll probably add it , gotta be different, Joe

  9. i guess its not too different because 30 others will have one but soon will have a new hamb gear knob on the truck =p

  13. Hardly a single unique item on mine, so I guess it's just the combination that makes it unique? Oh, and it's the only blue one with flames in my hometown (for the time being anyway..).

  20. I think my engine bay stands MoFo out from the crowd.....in these parts anyway.:)
    225 Mopar w/ lots carburetion.
That plus the stance and proportions actually work for a love 'em/hate 'em style pickup.......in my view.:D

I'm pretty sure it's the only one I've ever had that the motor was streetable.
    It's not blown
    Not injected
Doesn't run on C12 race fuel
    Only 1 carb
Gets more than 4 miles a gallon
    Only has 2 pedals
Doesn't run at 4,000 rpm at freeway speed
Doesn't break tires loose turning corners at near idle

Hands down, the most fun car to drive & I've had alot of cars!
It can sit for months & I can jump in & drive anywhere, at any time.

  27. Mine is a sedan but but now a friends '37 Coupe is parked right next to it, they remind of of some twins I went to high school with one was tall(ish) and thin and the other was short and fat. ;)

One of the artists discussed it with me and did me a quickie concept from my ideas. I am not sure that with my skill set I can pull this off but if I get close I will be happy.

I meant to say before I went off on a tangent, this thread is smooth, I am seeing a lot of things that I haven't noticed before. I have discovered that even at a show with a whole line of cookie cutter dueces if you look close they will be a little different if they have different builders. Every rod is unique in its own way, if for no other reason every builder is unique.

After finding the car, I stripped it to the bare frame and started over. . .piece by piece. It has many years of blood, sweat and beers. It's mine.
