Running 4 old grubby/corroded/rusty/damaged 94's on my y block not one matched pair! I run my largest jets in the front as a gm blower screws to the rear. Spent a bit of time cleaning and shaping throttle plates to get good seal but idles and runs with no dramas......now! The rear 2 are off and I'm sorting them out to run all 6. I cannot imagine it would be too much problem having mismatched and different carbs as it all gets smashed around by the blower and then thrown into what normally is a rather poor distribution manifold. The carbs do not flow that great as witnessed by how the intake ices up on my car after a hard run. Lots of air speed will do that. A good large single 4 barrel would be better than most 6 carb setups but I still have less money in my carbs than a dominator or the like would have been, plus it looks better!

  15. the best way to tune these things that i have found is a air fuel gauge. with todays fuels its hard to read plugs. with a blower if you run too lean detonation can occur on a big time basis. in severe cases plugs can close up piston tops removed roller lifter bearings smashed burned combustion chambers just to name a few. i have done all these things until i got a a/f gauge. now its all very easy. runs and drives great and i can put my foot into it with no worries. it really is the hot set up. pays for itself in fuel savings and no broken parts. the learning curve can be expensive.

  16. thanks for posting the new pics. the car is a 1931 chrysler cm-6 coupe. the pics are a few years old. i now run the 12 inch wide 32 inch tall radirs. the engine runs methanol inj. now. the wheelie bars are only for racing not street use.

Here is an adapter for a 6-71 blower that we just finished up to customer specs, the only difference is that both customers opted for 4" tall Edmund's risers.

I would have put all 8 carburetors on but the throttle shafts are too long. The holes in the top plate are for heim joints that will be coming in shortly, and a linkage kit will be available if needed. The way this is designed is that 8 Holley 94's or 8 Stromberg 97's can be used. Even a whole different carb layout could be done, it's possible for 8 small Rochester 2g carbs to be used.

If you are interested in an 8x2 or 6x2 setup just send me a pm.

Just had a guy trade in a bunch of vintage weiand stuff including one of the 8 carb adapters. He also traded in a front one piece weiand drive with 2 x 2" pulleys and a mint / new finned rear bearing plate cover. Even has the flat head level plug screw. Only thing missing is the belt, crank accessory pulley and idler arm. Give me a call if interested. Will clean it all up (sitting in garage for 20+ years) and post pics.
