Just about to the point of firing my 425 and wasn't sure what to expect as far as moror sound. This is in My Riviera and I don't want a bunch of noise but want a slight rumble. Loud exhaust on a rivi is just not right. Thanks Keith

I ran straight pipes on my '63 and it was wayyy too loud, the drone in the car gave you an instant headache. Even a glasspack or 40 series flowmaster would be too loud IMHO

Porter mufflers are cool (and trad).

  4. Goerlich xcelerators , then pick a resonator for the tailpipe.
Longer the resonator the quieter it gets

I run 36" Glasspak's on my wagon, gives it a nice mellow tone.

    2nd on the porters

  7. Glass packs are going to be noisy,,you would be better of with some sort of steel muffler, stock style. HRP

  8. You could run FlowMaster 50 series delta flow -mellow tone and they bark when you get on it. Not a lot of interior resonance.
Or the Porters with stock style resonators if you find them too harsh for a cruiser.

  9. Use the stock Rivi muffler without the resonators, I did this to mine and like the understated sound .

Thanks for the info. Looks like Porters will do the trick.

In my 63 Riviera I'm running duals 2 1/4 pipes into HP2 muflers from flowmaster, nice low rumble at idle driving and really sound off when hard on the gas.

  13. Smithy's or glass packs or cadillac reverse flow mufflers. Choose one and be happy.

A good old fashioned Walker "Turbo" Muffler should get you what you're looking for...
