    Jappic update

Been working on smaller parts , hoping the latest engine lead works out, at least. Am talking with the guy who owns the engine rather than a friend of a friend , who's dad is selling an engine ,

These are the clamp parts which hd the springs to the chassis , the front also has part of a Hartford friction damper built in

These are mock up parts laser cut from 3 mm mdf before committing getting steel parts water jet cut

Probably not what your guys and gals where thinking but it still is a car powered by a motorcycle, or at least a engine derived from a motorcycle. And Also A bit more engineered. The Honda s500, s600, and s800 ( I think I have those numbers right? )
Not much more than a old mg, but it sure sounds like a hoot. and completely kicks a civic with a fart can in the a** Also the most interesting parts being a roller bearing crankshaft, allowed the insane (for the day) streetable rpm's. And the Rear Supension set up. Not sure what you would call it, but drive shaft back to diff, then rather than spindles; a chain/sprocket system/arms back to wheels. Here I am Rambling again, but the car is a must see....

    I don't often post but i read ;)

  21. Posr #3440 - I think the middle one is a Hanomag and the right side pic is a Warrick. There is one of these here in NZ. The builder of the Warrick had some connection with AC in the very early years. The grandfather of a friend of mine drove a Warrick delivery around London during WW1.

Cool! Thanks for the heads up! There did appear to be a likeness to an AC.I just didn't know for sure.

  23. I'm not so sure about my identification of the middle pic - Hanomag?? More research to do.

Well this weekend is an exciting time in the jappic project,

Saturday I have to go and visit a guy who contacted me regarding an engine he has, not just any engine but a correct one for the jappic,
He has a number of 20's sprint bikes and he bought this engine 20 years ago as a spare for his zenith sprint bike ,, but has never used it , trying not to get to excited ,

Found a couple of new pics of the h m Walters whobdesigned nd built the jappic

This is him on his 350 zenith , this might even be the engine that ended up in the jappic

This is Walters on his v twin jap zenith , I love the racing clothing old cricket (sport not small insect) jumper and some shoes and gaters ,
