Absolutely. I will trim it once I find some decent looking tips.

I built the exhaust without fenders on the car and let the ends run free so as not to be too short. But yes, I agree. Plus it looks like shit as-is.

I love the look of full fendered roadsters, but will never own one. I want to set on the front tire while changing plugs. Green/White is outstanding!

Thanks Big Duece! Sans my '52 Chevy, this is the first full fendered car I have ever built/owned. I know exactly where you're coming from with regards to 4 constant "whitewall" seats.

YAAAAY! Progress! I was very excited to see you have been doing something on this! Looks about done, no? I'd go a tad lower in the rear, But everything else looks Killer! Great work as always Vern!!

Thanks Beav. I am undeceided about the rear. Maybe lower, maybe bigger tires, maybe leave it alone? Finish wiring and some small stuff and it is drive time.

Really cool! I'd go with a combination of just a tad lower out back and maybe some spacers to bring the tires out a little more.

I have spacers to put the tires more in line with the correct look. I will probably drive it for awhile and let the rear coils settle, then adjust ride height if needed. Thanks for checking it out.

Thanks guys! I plan on another update within the next couple of weeks. I am wrapping up some wiring and getting ready to start the interior. Any suggestions?

You've put a lot of hard work into that car but it is paying off by being a good looking car. One of these days your kids will love it a lot. The only problem I have with sloping fenders is when you have to work on the engine. Great car.

No doubt one the downfalls of fenders is the inability to get right next to the motor. I wanted the challenge of building a fendered car since I had never built one.

    Thanks for the kind words.

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

  14. Yep, lower the rear until you can't see the top of the tire. That'll be a good starting point to see where you're at.

    The car is way cool!

    Thanksgiving Weekend Update:

Lowered the ass end about 2 1/2"
    Put on the headlights
    Did some wiring
    Put on the radiator hoses
Put on the radiator support rods
Finished details on the Moon tank

Started some "brainstorming" on the upholstery. As a teaser, check out the white tuck and roll running boards.

  20. Muuuuch better! That's a good starting point, and after you get a few miles on it, it might settle down just a little bit more and be perfect.

    The car is looking great!

Rear is looking much better! (as you've heard a thousand times) I'm sooooo happy to see some progress! (The sooner you get done with yours, the sooner you can help with mine!)
hahaha, Yeah the wife mentioned she bumped into you, but she must not have mentioned I was at home with the other kiddies! I've been busy trying to round up funds, too much to be able to actually work on my own shit! :)
You get that sewing machine figured out? I am also going to need a lot of sewing done hopefully soon!

    Interior Attempt #1.

Disclaimer: I have never attempted interior work in anything, ever! In fact, I almost failed Jr. High Home Ec, at least the sewing part.

Any constructive comments or suggestions are more than welcome. Here it is:

    Step #1, Dynamat.

Step #2, Carpet. First I cut the appropriate size piece and trimmed as necessary. Then I sprayed the Dynamat and bottom of the carpet with spray adhesive. Viola! Carpet.

Step #3 Build Rear Panel. Starting with 1x2 and 1/8" masonite, I figured I could build most of my panels. I might as well start with the one no one will see and is probably the easiest. I picked me weapon of choice (a nice $5 score on Craigslist.)

Then started cutting and shaping the panel with sand paper.

    Step#4 Wrap it!

    Step #5 More Staples

Step #6 Install. I used Velcro to secure it and make for easy removal in case I need to work with the wiring or tail lights.

Holy shit, I might actually be able to do this :)

So it's 3:00 am right now. Years ago, I would have been closing the bars. Now as a married man with children, I resort to my garage for "wild nights"

    Finished the trunk.

    Enjoy!!

That car is looking sharp, love the colours and good on you for doing your interior yourself.

Inside the trunk look's lovely and neat, lowering the rear end has given
    it a great stance ;)

    Great build!

Did you buy the tuck and roll or did you make it? If you bought it, where?

It is actually Pleated Vinyl. I bought it from Rochford Supply in the Twin Cities. Found them when doing a Google search. Great people and products, economical shipping, and a fantastic catalog.
