Red Dog the '48 (possibly one of the handful of early 49s while they changed over) Plymouth DeLuxe 2 door sedan. Later GM suspension & drivetrain (231 V6/auto). Cobbled together in the late '80s, sat since the early '90s, found its HOME with me and I'm gonna drive the whee out of it...

Here are a few of that vintage. There is a '41 Coupe here witrh a slant six and with fuel injection an HEI that is coupled to a A-727. It is impressive and a nice looking car.

How Timely!!!:):):) I just this evening opened a box of stuff and found some long lost pics.. Including these pix of my '40 Plymouth Straight Axle Gasser project from the mid 1980's... It was a "4 spring" car with a late 30's Mopar front axle.. Frame was narrowed 5" per side and it had a 9" rear axle narrowed on one side only.. this way the 12" tires were not outside the fenders, no "Tubs", just a 5" widening of the stock wheel well. If I find more pix I will post asap. Sorry, I-phone pix of old Polaroid's...

  14. Hemiken........nice to see a fellow Oz Mopar owner.........have attached a couple of pics of my Oz 1940 Dodge Coupe, the pic in the magazine and the other pic are the SAME car, the mag pic was taken B4 I bought the car in 1969, I bought the brown 1940 sedan as a parts car in 1971 but it was too good to wreck, its been a hotrod since 1973, and the 41 Plymouth Coupe I've had since 2007. I sold the Oz Coupe in about 1985 to a guy in western sydney & haven't seen nor heard of it since I talk better than I type........would like to call you & compare notes..........btw that pic I have of the rear shot of the dark blue Plymouth Coupe was taken nearly 40 yrs ago and its of the SAME Plymouth Coupe that you have a pic of on this topic but its now a tourquoise blue.........lol.......regards, Andy Douglas

:):) Thank you "Hemiken" My biggest regret in building it was putting a Chevy in it.... Shoulda been an old Iron Hemi... That's what happens when you have too much cheap stuff layin around.... Was a neat street car for sure...
Thanx for this thread otherwise those old pix would have likely not been seen...:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

You are not the first person i have heard say that they regret not putting a Mopar engine in a Mopar, and i highly doubt you will be the last. There is something gratifying about putting the right make engine in the same make of vehicle. ;) But sometimes a good ole fashioned HEMI or new one, trumps the lot.:D

  25. Heres a couple of pics of the 318 Poly thats lived in my 1940 Dodge since 1973..........in 74/75 I put on a factory twin four cast iron intake with the WCFB's, went thru a couple of fire extinguishers trying to tune the bastards, eventually got a pair of Offy crossram adaptors and ran a pair of 600 Holleys for a while, with a big cam & hi stall convertor it ran like a hairy goat( thats the only pic of that setup I have)........lol............found that Weiand single 4 intakes, # 7503, were still available(this was the late 70's) so got one of those intakes and have ran it with a single 600 holley since..........but I have since found another factory twin 4 intake, a pair of Edelbrock carbies and lol.......who knows what might happen..........an dyd
