Bagged C10--- The RE-Build

What are you going to notch? they look like they have plenty of clearance and it sit low.

 

Nice truck, im dying to build a full porterbuilt suspension c10, loving yours so far!!

 

Like this.... They hit the frame when laid out. Pretty low as of now but maybe if I notch I can get an extra 1/2 lower.... everything inch (or 1/2in) counts to me...

Been ordering parts here lately little by little. I tore my block apart so I ordered Fel-pro complete gasket kit. I put the head gaskets on today but now I need to order new lifters cause I mixed up the order when I put them aside.

 

Now that I'm putting it back together I'm going with a gloss black engine and satin black frame. Some of the components on the engine will be chrome and some silver on the suspension components. Here is what I did today.

 

Thats gonna look nice!

 

Thanks^ before I had my frame gloss black with pretty much all the removable components silver, then to top it off with a Chevy orange block. It looked good but I think it had too much going on.

Do yourself a favor and loose that air cleaner, those ones are serious fire hazards.

I bought a old school Caddy air cleaner I might use. Still debating on using it or a factory style one. Which ever one I use wil be pinstriped.

truck looks good, mine is bagged also but not to the ground still undisided on that a lot of work witch is no big deal just wanna keep the bed tuff decision becouse they look tuff on the ground, what are u gonna use to control your bags?

 

Thanks, I would like to run the fancy stuff like Accuair but I most likely will run manual valves. A fellow forum member on 67-72chevytruck sell them and they look trick bad thing is I think u have to run air line outside cab so when u dump it doesnt release air in cab. It's gonna be one of them deal on what I can afford once I get to that point. I dig your fleetside! I'm gonna try and build one of those next.

 

Picked up this Beast for my dad yesterday. I will start a build thread soon. It's a 1960 impala 2 owner car. They second owner bought/owned it in 1968. Complete!!!!

Thank you... Hoping to get it back to "rolling chassis" by thanksgiving.

 

Finally worked on frame today. Have been slacking here lately plus been slowly working on my dads impalas air ride. Also started working on frame this Saturday and mig welder ran out of gas. Finally got everything worked out though. I built my fuel cell mount also today. The second pic the fuel cell is just resting on the mount.

I like that X member. Perfect clearance for drive shaft and exhaust.

 

Prepping notch and front frame rails with filler primer before paint. I'm gonna have a real shop one of these days.

 

Just coating areas that have met up with the grinder, hiding all my rookie mistakes hopeing to paint it tomorrow if thanksgiving and weather allow.

Working the nightshift again, trailing arm xmember front dropmember and control arms in so far. Gonna have to shim the uppers tomorrow.

 

She's a roller now guys!.... I just sat the bed on there to keep my head in the build. Motor and tranny going in soon (repainting them). Still need to put on panhard bar as well.

 

where can I find info on the Porter crossmember (I tihnk that is who you said fab'd it) to attach the truck trailing arms. I need something like this for my 48 Dodge woodie project.

But the thing is his products are for 60-87 C10s and 55-59 Chevy/Gmc trucks. But you never know I know of a forum member on 67-72trucks that made his own frame rails and made the front Dropmember work on a 04 Ford Dually.
